I had 2 older biological siblings, they were already adopted long before I was born, I have no idea what gender they are, I hope they are happy just like me. I'm proud to be adopted.

Regina is very good at pretending to be diplomatic, it comes with royalty. This was shown when she disguised herself to spy on Snow White, when she convinced Belle to kiss Rumplestiltskin, and when she made Sydney fall in love with her for his genie magic.

I watched this episode a million times. I mean Regina who snapped necks; amazing how "motherly" she was with a crying infant spitting up on her w/her not losing her shit. She was all about that baby. No nannies like fuck no bitch I'll work from my house; he's mine.

Kind of reminds me of my mom. I’m not adopted, but my mom quit her job as a hairdresser when I wasn’t very old because, as she said, “I didn’t have her just to let other people raise her.” I think that kind of stands with Regina as well. She didn’t become a mom just to let other people raise her baby ❤️

The one thing that bugged me the most during this show - especially the first two seasons - was how they portrayed adoption. Emma gave Henry up and Regina adopted Henry. But everyone in the show was like "Henry is Emma's son not Regina's". It frustrated me to no end. In the real world, Emma would be in the wrong.

Exactly. It’s also the complete lack of love that Henry has for Regina that gets me too. That kid had known her as his mother for 10 years before he received the storybook from his teacher, and then he suddenly turned on her with absolutely no remorse? I understand how conflicting everything probably was to him, but the absolute bitterness he had towards her was unreal. He believed she was the evil queen, yes, but the show could’ve shown how much trauma he was facing over finding out someone he loved and relied on was evil. In the show he just accepts it casually and immediately takes a liking to Emma over the person who took care of him for his entire life. Wtf?

No matter what Regina has done, Henry is still her child. She adopted him, cared for him, loved him and treated him as her own. Emma was wrong for just barging in and claiming Henry just because she's one of the 'heroes'

This was a beautiful moment in the whole show ngl I cried in this scene and the one where she was about to give him back thankfully she didn’t.

I like how Regina said storybrooke was like a fairy tale she isn’t kidding

Regina adopting Henry made no logical sense. He lives in a town where no one ages but him. He advances grades while his classmates are always in the same grade (ex. The Mad Hatter's young daughter Grace never aged during the curse). Did Regina think Henry wouldn't notice or that she could gaslight him into adulthood that the absurdity of the town wasn't real? What was here plan here? It doesn't make sense.

@@springlady8337 I get that. But this wasn't an impulsive decision, it took time to arrange the adoption. Regina had to have given some thought to how she was going to raise uncursed Henry in cursed Storybrook. He was going to notice at some point and ask questions. What was the plan? I know she had him in therapy in the first season, so I guess she was trying to gaslight him a bit, but what about when he went to college? Brought a girlfriend home? Shared his observations of his weird hometown where no one ages, including his mom? Word would have gotten out, outsiders would have come in and her self styled world would have come crashing down.

Adrienne B. Given that Regina would stop at nothing to get what she wants, I don’t think she cared. What if she didn’t know he would continue to grow? Rumple created the curse and gave it to Regina so maybe she didn’t know that little detail. Maybe rumple lied, maybe she assumed. By the time she realized he wasn’t frozen in time with them, I’m sure there was nothing she could do. She did love him so it’s not like she could just give him up. She probably figured she’d deal with it in time and just enjoy loving him.

le baguette she was able to come and go. She had her memories. The curse was made so the "others" couldn't leave. She gave herself freedom to do whatever. She did that to them so they'd be "captive". I'm surprised she never travelled to some exotic location.

Because in season 2 it was revealed she could only lose her magic if she left, but at that point she didn’t have magic, so nothing to lose

someone explain to me how regina was able to leave the town AFTER she placed the protection over town? despite the common belief, the barrier was not placed up because of the curse but after she met owen and his father. that was a few days after the curse. this was years. how was she able to leave town to pick up henry?

She can leave because she wasn’t a victim of the first curse. She enacted the curse with specificity; in Season 2 (I don’t remember the exact episode), she explains to Cora and Hook that they are all able to leave Storybrooke without being affected by the curse because none of them were written into it as victims. She was extremely clever and precise in her actions :)

She needed the snow queen's scroll in season 4 because there was a new spell on the town line, it wasn't because of her curse (hers had ended by 3x11)

It led to having Henry in the first place and, as we saw when she went up against Peter Pan, Regina doesn't regret a single decision that led to her getting Henry.

No actually it is portraying a really real phenomenon is adopted kids where they cry a lot simply because they were separated from their biological mothers. No matter what adoptive babies cry a lot.
