Bergamonto may be the most famous product in Messina, but a small correction on your comment: Messina is NOT the only place in the world that produces it. ie i live in Cyprus and we produce it too in winter time.

Sorry for the late reply! Yes we visited end of July and stayed one week so we got to experience Reggio by day and night !
