The majority of the tasks are from the UK version. Or at least that's the way it looked in the trailer

Alex Horne is the show's creator, kind of like Ricky Gervais in the office. No butchering here, just the show creator running the show for a bigger international audience. Some Brits don't realize that their humor doesn't sell as well as American humor.

@@hamad4269 To be fair, outside England, tea doesn't sell as well as redbull, but that doesn't mean the people buying RedBull should have a say in what's being produced. Crack is more popular than Dire-Straits-cd's, but I think the Dire-Straits-Cd's are better. I've seen the American show once and it defineately is quite shit compared to the original.

I’m so glad Alex Horne is still involved. I was pleasantly surprised to hear he was co-hosting, and I’m also pleasantly surprised that The Horne Section’s music is still going to be used. That’s gotta mean the network has given them a lot of creative freedom, because when I pictured the US series in my head, I assumed that the music would be one of the first changes. Taskmaster is a very British TV format which I feel American TV could benefit from more of (We have a lot of panel shows - I’m probably preaching to the choir right now, since this is a James Corden clip afterall). Although the format seemed too freeform for the mainstream U.K. channels to give it a chance, it still received an amazing reception. I think Reggie is the perfect fit. If you’re sad that Greg Davies isn’t hosting the US version, bare mind that he wasn’t the show’s first host either, that was Alex in the show’s earliest form at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The show needed a recognisable leading host to attract viewership (also, Alex probably suits the submissive role he has fallen into a little better). So, for the U.K., the leading man was Greg, and for the Americans that is Reggie. Give the show a chance. It has the potential to be really good. I’m excited.

He didn’t come up with the tasks literally a task from the British virsion

The reason it won’t ever be as good as UK Taskmaster is because Reggie is too nice and always compliments the contestants where as Greg will be comedically rude to the contestants and will always feel like an alpha male.

Don't ask "but what is the show" James as if you don't know it's already popular in the country you so love to forget. He didn't even acknowledge it's existence and made out as if it's "brand new". At least Alex Horne is still in charge since it's his creation anyway.

They have no banter. On the UK one, Greg is the master. Whatever he says goes. In the US version, he acts like a normal host.

They literally did this task as the live task in series 1 of the UK version with Roisin Conaty, Tim Key, Josh Widdicombe, Romesh Ranganathan and Frank Skinner. Literally plagarism. Come on Alex. Be original 😂 Don't think it's ok to use the same tasks again just because it's the US version

How exactly is it plagiarism? If Alex was the one to come up with the task in both the US and UK version, then it's not plagiarism, because you can't plagiarize yourself. Is it plagiarism if Rowan Atkinson is on a talk show and does a 3-minute version of one of his 10-minute Mr. Bean routines?

The line up is Lisa Lampanelli, Freddie Highmore, Ron Funches, Dillon Francis, and Kate Berlant. Personally I only recognise Freddie and Ron but that could be down to living in Britain...

Legit, I had to stop watching after the first episode because of Lisa Lampenelli (idk if that's her name) and the other woman just constantly yelling and swearing at Alex. At least Freddie Highmore was there to try and level it out
