People that know Reggie as a polite well spoken color commentator don't know how cutthroat and competitive he was. He was just as competitive as MJ ans Kobe he just didn't have as much help or talent. MJ and Kobe were A+ talent and he was A- or B+. He was skinny but he was as fiery and competitive as they come. He made those games great. His battles with the Knicks and banter with Spike Lee in the sidelines. Battles with MJ. He was the only one ever I think to break MJs composure and get under his skin. Scuffle/fight ensued. I love Reggie. If Reggie had more talent around him he would have a couple rings. Kobe couldn't win without Pau, Lamar, Trevor, Artest, Bynum all those guys the second time around. The guy who kind of plays like Reggie and is my current favorite player is Patrick Beverly. A guy that outworks everyone and fought tooth and nail to be relevant in a league that he really was never supposed to end up in. Reggie played with a competitive fire that got under people's skin and often resulted in fights etc just like Beverly. But they were so respected and made other players better. KD loves Beverly as competition because he brings out the best in him. Reggie brought out the best in MJ and made him better. Just like Isaiah and the Bad boys made MJ better because they gave him such fierce competition. Reggie has everything Kobe and MJ had in terms of drive and determination he just didn't have enough help and wasn't as gifted as them. But all those guys are legends. Respect to Reg for making it uplifting. It's not a cry fest anymore. I cried now I'm over it. Kobe inspired us all to be better people and the world is a better place because of him. Let's remember that and do better because of his inspiration. Mad respect to Reg for using this moment to uplift us

The truth is those differences are small, much smaller than the important things in life... and we just lose focus sometimes. I'm as guilty of this as anyone. Look at Tyler the Creator. Gives a moving speech about Kobe in a post Grammy interview, then goes to Twitter to shoutout a hater from 9 yrs ago. We need to embrace our commonalities & let go of our differences, or we'll finish our lives with a life not lived to the fullest. That's the lesson I'm taking away from this.

I chose Reggie to my star-hero instead MJ in my starting highschool year in 96, and I never regret this.He is smart as was a player, and he has right, we have to celebrate Kobe and his legacy over basketball in life. I can share the joy with the people who chose Kobe when he was just a talented rookie, a promise, and then saw him growing and become the legend who he became.

I know no matter where you are , whatever you’re doing ...if it is your time .. that’s it ! It’s just so painful because it’s so tragic . Am just a fan like others but he’s a person who inspired all of us , not just he’s excellent skills, his mamba mentality, work ethics etc.....his totality as Kobe Bryant . He will be missed . Prayers for the rest of his soul , his daughter and his friends who was with him . May you all rest in peace . ...

That was great memories that time when Miller face Kobe in the 2000 NBA Finals it was Kobe's dream come true to win his first NBA title with the Lakers with his teammate duo Shaq they worked hard to win it together they had hard times with Miller and the Pacers but they did what they had to do to win it out to capture the title and Kobe cherish that moment before he capture two more in 2001 and 2002.

Kobe feels bigger than life reggie. i dont even think mj would hit the world this hard like kobe did and the reason is, kobe seemed touchable to all the fans and players. he seemed accessible and a part of everybody lives. mj seems aloof and a lot of people saw him as not stepping up to the plate in the community and what not.

Lots of NBA players went from highschool, to college, or D league, they had a chance to develop their games from other places before going to the NBA, and people forget this, Kobe went straight from highschool, to the NBA he was still a kid, competing against grown men. These men were fully developed, from their games to their bodies, and Kobe was was a work in progress from his game, to his body. He wasn't fully grown.

Not to mention, he's one of the greatest basketball players ever to grace this earth. Yeah, I'm affected by his passing. Been crying the entire day.
