Today I travel down south to look at a new Regal 38 flybridge that has low voltage on the house battery. Thanks for watching.

Thank you. I do like it better than the non fly bridge version. Cool place to be up on top. 😊

One of your best videos showing the working of the battery systems on board. It's unfortunate that a simple stwich on the house battery can cause such a problem. I guess that in the category of lessons learned, check all battery stwichs periodically. As always great video and keep them coming.

Thanks. Sometimes it's a simple problem or just something that is overlooked 🤗

Only change I would make is get rid of the lower helm station on a 38 footer…….The added salon space would be more important to me…..Obviously you would need a Bimini on the bridge at a minimum, but maybe a 1/2 hardtop would be nice understanding weight distribution is the major issue with sub 40 footers bridge boats……..Something like the Searay 390 DB (which I had 4 boats ago without the lower helm station). Im not sold on outboards (yet on 40 footers)…….I like a heavy alternator, heating water by engine, etc……A lot of boat though……

That would give you a bunch more room. You can still order these boats with inboards. The trend is outboards now so we always order them with Yamahas. We have had a few customers order them with Volvos but for stock boats they always have outboards. Tis the future🤗

Hey Justin, always great watching your videos which are full of useful information and its well appreciated of the work that you do. With That being said, I was following your video, episode 125, changing a Volvo Penta tilt trim pump. Well my pump stopped working so I had to pull the boat out of the water to change it. While the boat was on the lift, I notice that one of the pump lines was not connected to the starboard side ram, allowing the trim fluid to escape. The cause of this was the screw and clip that holds the line in place was lost. In order to get new clips and screws, I have to order an entire kit, which is pretty expensive for just 4 clips and screws. I called marinas around in my area and Volvo Penta, which they say are at least 2 weeks in back ordered. So my question to you is, do you happen to have any of them, as spare parts laying around? Much appreciated.

Thank you. I don't personally have any but if you call Doug at the Clearwater Marina(727) 443-2466 he might have them or used ones. It's not the greatest design as it's three different metals together in the water. Causes wierd electrolysis and makes them corrode faster. Hopefully he can help with the parts and thanks for watching. I appreciate it.

Great video!, I do love our regal 28 express but I constantly wonder about quality. Sometimes I feel like it's very well built, but other times when I dig into fixing things I find things that could be done better. Are all these boats built the same or are some better than others, how does regal rank?

Good question. I would say that Regal is above average in quality. There are better boats but there are a lot more brands that are worse in quality. You didn't go wrong with buying a Regal. If you want to go up from there you can stick with Regal or go more expensive like Grady or Pursuit or even Tiara. You shell out a lot more for those brands and get less boat.

Great video as always, but how did a brand new boat get 385 hours on the generator so quickly. Don’t you service every 100?

Thank you and the boat was Regals demo as it was hull number 1. The motors have over 200 hours. They traveled around the coast of Florida to show it off. 😊
