They were, but not here; this sounds like New York Hardcore/Thrashcore from 5-10 years prior, could quite easily be a Gorilla Biscuits' song.

And that guitar tone was never found again. Refused unique in every way

Crazy to read that in 2023, 0:12 - 0:52 just sounds like buddy ran his es335 through a metal zone and everybody seems to gripe about that one nowadays It came out brand new in 1991 so thats not unplausible So maybe it didn't disappear, it was abandoned

Funny how Swedish death metal had a huge hardcore influence. Looks like we've come full circle.

Saw this band play at the Fox Theater in Oakland several years ago, been listening to them since I was like 14. Put on the best show of my life.

Damn this is awesome good they found their sound. This is like BioHazard and Suicidal Tendencies had kids.

How is it ahead of its time? This was being done by Suicidal (among others) in the 80’s... and it hasnt aged well... not sure how they can ever be considered ”ahead of their time”

If you ask me the intro riff is literally 20 yrs ahead of time,does chugs with harmonics r really being used in metal and core atm (gojira,spiritbox,knocked loose, Kublai Khan just to name a few)

I really like it. I would not say Suicidal though. More like Biohazard. This song anyway. And not saying they are ripping it off just saying it is like them. The guitar tone is a bit like Sabbath to be honest. Eventually things all have similarities.

This was underground at the time. There was a whole scene across America of kids like this. I should know, I was one of them. I got fucked with in middle school for dressing like this and listening to this stuff but then was the coolest kid in school my senior year because this "style" was suddenly fashionable.
