Nothing beats what I like to call the Mothership logo. HBO should've kept that.

When I watched this channel back in 2017, I watched it just for you to do an Logo evolution on this, this was my first request to you. And now, you came this far to do an RLE on it. CCG88 I'd like to say a few words. The effort you put into these videos are just incredible. I saw your videos when I was young and to this day it's like they never changed. I want to from the bottom of my heart thank you for what you do for your fan for me and for everyone in the logo community. I will be greatful for your understanding.

That Logo In Space Gave Me Chills! 😍

The 2017 logo looks trying to pay homage to the 1982 one, but downgrading it, I even noticed any reference of the 1998 one, and the music is just a looping of the 12-note 1982 fanfare with different instruments.

One of your finest works yet Cam. Really did enjoy this a huge lot. :-) Looking forward to 3-G Home Video coming up next!

if you’re wondering what went on with the audio at 12:53… - a version of the hbo in space fanfare was sent on an audiocassette to radio stations for promotional purposes - someone overlapped the radio version with the audio from the original bumper

Not To Mentioned The HBO Theater Logo Was From Video About How They Made HBO City From 1982 This Logo Was Made At Liberty Studios In Queens New York The Same Place Where The WNET Logo Was Made

2:06 The subscriber count for HBO mentioned is actually that of HBO Now (to be renamed as simply "the HBO app/streaming service"). The HBO television service had a base of around 30 million-32 million subscribers in the U.S., according to subscribers counts that were available when this video was made.

5:12 The ball inside the "O" is missing. Possibly an attempt to redesign the HBO logo.

Actually the 1997 Feature Presentations IDs (chase, fish, river, scanner, skyscraper etc...) were used for only 2 years, "The Road" open was used starting on November 6, 1999 (during the premiere of "Saving Private Ryan"). The "Fish" Feature Presentation ID (which was usually reserved for G-rated films) was the main feature presentation bumper for HBO2 and HBO3 (until they became HBO Plus and Signature in August 1998 as part of a rebranding of the multiplexes under "HBO The Works").

Nothing beats the old HBO in space logo!

Anyone watching in 2020? Yes, I know IT’S SPECTACULAR! I can’t believe this CCG88! You spent 5 days making this! It’s amazing how you did this, especially finding all the 1980 ones, must’ve been a lot of work for you to do! Also, ever since I was 6-7 years old I found your logo evolutions amazing! Also: do you think you can bring back all the other logo evolutions you did in the original series? (of course in refurbished form) It would be cool watching companies’ logos you did over the years in a different way! Also, good luck in quarantine!

Love your videos! Commentary is amazing and that's what I value in YT videos. I'm not quite the logo enthusiast I used to be back in my formative years (early 2000s) but it's still nice to see this community alive and well.

Have to give some props to the creative department for trying to keep it fresh with the times. The winner is the 1982 one then the last one.

Perfect, I think I and my sister saw the 2017 logo before Won't You Be My Neighbor? And Aquaman and I haven't seen the 2017 logo before Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and Deadpool 2, I must be chickened out.

They’ve certainly put in an incredible amount of time and money into their artwork and background music, but they will never have anything better than ‘HBO In Space.’

fun fact: the liquid neon marqee was the opener to the vaporwave mix "Midnight Television" (the spliff radio one)

Tho your Ep. 50 intro was a reference of The AVGN Ep. 100: R.O.B. (BOOOOMMM!!!)

I honestly do not remember all of those HBO in space categories just the feature presentation.

There's a rare "HBO In Space" logo that has been remastered in 2019 and at the end of the opening scene, it says, "WORLD PREMIERE PRESENTATION". Now it has never been used back in the 80s or the 90s or the early 00s, but it's possible it might've been shown once on HBO in 2020. And it can be found on here. Also, it has a theme song to HBO In Space called, "Anyone Who Has A Fantasy" was released only on record disc in 1986. And I REALLY love the HBO In Space logo. Hope, they'll use it again soon!

The first HBO scanimate bumper was the music which was later used for the Home Theater Network (aka HTN) back in the 1980’s. The HBO’s “Feature Presentation” bumper ran from 1982 through 2002 was the one that I remember. My brother and I used to fight while the “Feature Presentation” was running, where he got me strangled, and pulling me out to run away. That brings back some memories.

In addition, the music from “HBO in Space” was later stolen by both TVS and SBT, the two Brazilian TV networks from the 1980’s.

39:50 I really liked this HBO family logo this year, when it includes the iron Giant. 40:21 I also liked this logo. Lastly, I liked watching every other movies on HBO without any commercial breaks during the movie playing.

HBO Family Showcase also had a different logo which is literally set in a hand drawn national park with people having fun As for Silver Screen Partners, they collaborated with Disney in 1987 until 1991 Family, a Canadian channel, had the 1990 HBO Original Movie logo intact while showing An American Girl: Chrissa Stands Strong (2009)

HBO President: How many colors do you want ? HBO: Yes! (Referring to the first two, I like the music it has sort of a funky groove going on.)

At 36:00, this skyscaper one reminds to the 1998 Feature Presentation opener.

The first 3 were made in a Computer Image demo reel in Denver, Colorado. This happened in 1975 not 75-78.

If it's at all possible given that they have equally as many if not a whole lot more feature presentation logo's. what I'd like you to do is an RLE on Cinemax which was essentially HBO'S brother in a way.

I liked the music at 3:01, but I tell ya, the HBO in space logo might be the best FP logo of all time, maybe even the best logo of all time! Of course its gotta pass WB and 20th Century fox and Walt Disney in order to hold the title. (Also universal).

My Personal Opinion On All The Logos: Scanimate HBO - I really like this logo because of the major fanfare and its focus on topic variates. Scanimate HBO II - Not as enjoyable as Scanimate HBO I, but it's still fun to watch and the fanfare is great. Scanimate HBO III - A bit boring compared to the previous two logos, but I still like it and it does have effort. The HBO Feature Marque - The animation looks a little cheap in a few areas, but the bombastic fanfare is nice. The Hollywood Walk - The animation is better, although it being in daytime makes it a little less thrilling. The Flashing Theatre - I love the fanfare and the animation is very good. The darkness of it also makes it lovely. Shapes in Space - While the fanfare isn't as good, I do like how it looks so 1970s-ish with the shapes. Funky Marque - It's simple, but the mix of 2D and 3D is amazing, and the calm fanfare makes it relaxing. Liquid Marque - Another great logo from HBO with its animation and fanfare. HBO in Space - A very impressive logo for the 1980s. The live-action animation and bombastic fanfare makes it a masterpiece of a logo. The HBO Filmstrip - I really love this logo for its epic fanfare and the animation looks extremely well-made for its time. The HBO Mantle - Simpler, but still a pretty good logo with good visuals and sound. HBO Pendulum - Ehh, it's not as nice as its predecessors and it's not a logo I would like to watch over and over. The HBO Filmstrip II - One of my favourites on the list. I adore the smooth fanfare, and the brilliant animation. An astonishing logo. HBO Across the World - I enjoy every variant, but my favourite variant is the "HBO on top of a building" one due to the fanfare and gorgeous CGi. The Road - An impressive successor to HBO in Space with the bombastic fanfare and pretty well-made CGi animation. HBO Aurora - A very simple, but effective logo with nice visuals and a nice simple fanfare. HBO Gallery - One of the most boring on the list in my opinion. I like the animation of the film shots, but the logo is too simple for me to like it. The HBO City of Tomorrow - An absolutely brilliant logo for 2017. Gorgeous animation and a very addicting fanfare.

HBO was also the one to host Fraggle rock in the US

The "follow the bouncing ball/sing along" version of HBO in Space is missing. I believe that one was another April Fool's variant.

The 1982 logo is a great example of usage of models for motion graphics, the 1998 logo is made with fantastic CGI that was once ahead of its time, the 2017 logo features great elements of real-life footage and computer animation, but literally all three of them have extraordinary music... hard to lay my finger on which one is the best. I'd say all three!
