I have a copy of the Reformation Study Bible, ESV edition. It was a gift from a friend when I joined a Presbyterian church in my area... I came into contact with reformed theology which revolutionised my understanding of God, His nature, sovereignty, and grace. I have never looked back!! This man and his teaching has been a source of instruction and knowledge for me. Thank you, R.C. and rest easy in His presence!

Reformed theology has brought so much light to the truth of the Scriptures, and has changes my life as a result. I love my condensed adition of the RSB, and will use it for years to come, in shepherding a future family, should the Lord will that, and even so far as helping other brothers and sisters in the Lord.

The Reformation Study Bible is a truly incredible piece of theological scholarship. Dr. Sproul was such a dear man, and one of the greatest voices for Christ of our time. I know that he is currently loving every moment with the LORD he spent so many years glorifying here on Earth.

Thank you Dr. Sproul for your ministry in the Lord. your teaching has helped me in my walk with the Lord understand some of the things in the scriptures that were muddled/not clear for me. I still have much learning to do but through studying of the Word & applying it to my life I can get a better understanding of God's Word. Thank you and God Bless you

I would love to have seen R.C. Sproul do a side project video series where he sat in front of a fire and read aloud books like Sherlock Holmes and Charles Dickens.

Dr. Sproul, I want to personally thank you for standing up for the Gospel of our Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ. Thank you for providing me as a lay person with the resources to study and understand the scriptures better. I want to go to college to become a pastor and serve God and His people. It was one of the first movies I saw on the Ligonier webpage. I bought Reformation Study Bible 2005. And fell in love with Calvinism for several years.

This thrills my heart.

I just got my copy yesterday ESV version from Amazon, been reading it and learning from R.C. Sproul. Love his teachings.

I must learned this Pastor! His teaching is nostalgic!

Just ordered mine from Amazon. Cant wait to dig in

My NKJV Reformation Study Bible is my favorite study Bible.

I have the condensed version and love it. I just ordered the original.

Calvinism is not a "man-made doctrine" but is a theological camp focusing on the sovereignty of God. Dr. Stanley himself even says Calvinism is not heresy and I have the sermons from him to prove it. Dr. Sproul is a Presbyterian, which is a Calvinist denomination. Dr. Stanley is Southern Baptist, which is comprised of both Calvinists and people who are in between Calvinism and Arminianism.

Well we could link the Baptists to the original 'Anabaptists', they were 'Calvinists' whose front was to convey the idea that the roman catholic infant baptism was null and that people needed to be baptised according to their conscience and conviction. Anabaptist means 'baptise again'. The later Baptist groups were divided according to forms of government but theologically they are predominantly Calvinist

Use mine as my number one for study RC said they'd cut out a bunch of notes for space considerations. Wouldnt bother me one bit to have a fifty pound Bible for home study.

I've been listening and captivated by this reformed teaching. Just few days ago I've heard from one of Dr. RC Sproul teaching about Reformation Study Bible and brought to my attention to purchase this Bible. Any recommendation since there are different colours of Reformation Study Bible I'm going to purchase?

From someone who also owns Dr. Stanley's book, I can read right along with you. Dr. Sproul would agree with this statement. Calvinists do not deny the responsibility of man, that would be Hyper-Calvinism and Fatalism. Listen to Dr. Stanley's sermon about Calvinism vs. Arminianism where he agrees with both Calvinists and Arminians and says both groups preach the Gospel of the Lord.

Dr. Stanley is very wise, he's not in a camp he preaches Gods sovereign gospel. He believes in predestination but doesn't try to over explain it, He says that's Gods business and it had nothing to do with us but with Gods plan. He preaches anyone can be saved which us how we should look at it, even with a limited atonement. We can't say who's elect, that's Gods business.

The Catholic Church didn’t chain the Bible to the lectern for nefarious purposes. It was merely because books up to that point were extremely expensive and mostly handwritten. This prevented them from being stolen.

In the commentary does it record Calvin burning Christians on the stake in Geneva Switzerland for disagreeing with Calvin himself?

From Charles Stanley's "Handbook for Christian Living" pg 469 "...putting your personal trust in Christ's death on the cross as the payment for your personal sin. It is only when you express personal faith in Christ that His forgiveness is applied to your life. God never forces salvation on anyone. It is a CHOICE you must make" No, Dr Stanley goes by the bible, just as I said!

Never heard Dr Stanley any such thing, but I provided you a refernece for exactly what he believes! Sproul thinks man CHOOSES to be saved, I'm sure he would be very surprised to hear that!

Every proclaiming Christian who isn't a universalist heretic believes in Limited Atonement to some degree. Just a matter of whether they believe it's limited in intent, extent, or application.

Definite Atonement is a better term. God never fails!

Scripture says to honor all people. The passing reference to Mary Queen of Scots as "bloody mary" is very disrespectful.

Murderous Mary had hundreds of Christians tortured to death and caused many faithful believers to flee the British isles. Destroying your own countrymen over denomination is indefensible to rational thinking people.

That wasn't the queen of Scots. That was Mary, the daughter of Henry VIII, and older sister of Elizabeth. "Bloody" Mary earned her nickname, by trying to return the church to Rome, and having those slaughtered who resisted. Mary Queen of Scots was a completely different person.

ESV is for clowns

Dr Stanley and Dr Sproul believe VASTLY different things. Stanley believes the bible and Sproul follows the man-made doctrine known as calvinism.

Excuse me, but I have never read Calvinism in my whole christian life, but I see the doctrines of grace so clearly in scripture. At least, you will, if you use the KJV.

The real question is if you beleive God is sovereign,He is in control of every aspect,even mans salvation,its is at this grace we bow,Christ declares He chooses,the Father gives to the Son,and the Son loses none,again He declares I will have mercy on whom I will,and whom I will I harden,it is by grace only are we saved,and that grace is mercy man does not deserve Glory be to God

I wonder how many dupes had to send in money for this guy to have such an opulent office.

None. Anyone remotely knowledgeable concerning Ligonier Ministries understands that their operations are second to none. R.C. Sproul is one of the leading Bible expositors of our day, and no one commands or deserves more respect than he does. He is a teacher nonpareil. Everything "this guy" does is pure class from start to finish. Thank you, Dr. Sproul for your tireless crusade to "give the sense" of God's word to us.

Who says it's his office? Could be a 'set' for filming. Never ASSUME for it makes an.........oh forget it!

While you are busy being prideful (never met a humble calvinist, how could they be?, God PICKED them) I'm busy spreading the truth about the REAL gospel of Jesus Christ! You know the one that actually BELIEVES John 3:16 without out having to add "believing ones" to the verse! Start following the bible, instead of what men say about the bible, it will be a wonderful journey for you! I pray knowledge and peace for you!

It is my estimation, that there is NOTHING more humbling and able to destroy ones pride than a clear and concise understanding of the sovereignty of God. And that is exactly what Reformed theology or "Calvinism" teaches. As Spurgeon was quoted, "Reformed Theology is just a nickname for biblical Christianity."

RC signed my new Geneva study Bible. It needs a new cover but I think the place I want to put a new cover on it can save the page he signed but not the inside of the cover. RC straightened lots of us out
