One night in a Presbyterian church we sang this song and then I just suddenly started crying uncontrollably. God revealed to me several sins I’d previously been unaware of that I needed to repent of, but I didn’t feel that He was angry, only that in His love He was deeply disappointed. It was a truly cleansing experience. Thank God for this glorious song!

I believe that I'm in a season of refinement and it's breaking my heart. I haven't cried like this in ages! Dude, you just don't know how much I needed to hear this song. I just two relatives within two weeks of each other. And I wanted to just give up and quit on life. I was just at my end and then I was going through your songs and this was the song that made me cry out to the Lord.

As He leads me to different seasons in life, this song is a great accompaniment through difficult times as I obey God's direction. But ultimately, it encourages me through the ups and downs. Thanks for sharing this. This spoke right to my heart. I've been away from Christianity for a while, and I've gone through some pretty heavy stuff. I had an unplanned pregnancy with my fiance, ended up keeping my baby, son had colic and wasn't gaining weight, fought through it and now he's a fat and happy toddler, couldn't find work, started my own business instead, my son now has cancer just shy of 2, sharing a deeper bond with him than I ever could have, second baby is due in 2 months, also unplanned. I'm a far stronger and more empathetic person than I used to be. Church became very stupid to me for a long time ago. But you sang this song so authentically. It's beyond political agendas, church attendance, and bible-based cliches. It's about persevering to connect with the divine. It's about finding the beauty in suffering. Not because it's "God's plan" or some silly tagline to make me feel better for a moment. But because there is REAL beauty in suffering. Buddhism has been teaching me that. This video made me connect with the faith I grew up with. Maybe it's time to revisit that again.

Yeah, man jesus loves you. Like he said, it’s not about a faith or religion it’s about Jesus, he loves you and wants you with him in relationship, deeper than any human relationship and more direct than abstract divinity, he’s a person and he wants you. Love what you said about kinda being fed up with the religious side of it. That’s when you meet jesus is when you’re fed up with the status quo. Jesus came challenging (while still loving) the Pharisees who were religious and false. Find a church with people who love god, you and preach the bible.
