I understand historical reenactments, but yet at the same time I don't. I have been involved in many American Civil War reenactments, not as a participant but as support staff, which always felt weird to me because I am Japanese-American. If the Japanese really wanted to get it right, they would starve themselves for a month then spend a weekend eating nothing but miso soup made out of sea weed and that grass they are running on with rice. Oh and take a whole bunch of laxatives to mimic distemper. OK being a Japanese Imperial soldier in WWII was horrific.
