ReefOS - the story behind the first Coral Gardeners' innovation project

ReefOS started almost two years ago from an unexpected meeting between our founder Titouan Bernicot and a Silicon Valley Rockstar in Artificial Intelligence, Dr. Drew Gray.
That was Drew’s first day pursuing his dream of creating innovations and solutions to help save the ocean and after that call with Titouan, he joined the team and he is now at the Head of Coral Gardener Labs.
ReefOS is the first project of CG Labs that aims at developing more cutting-edge tools to enable a deeper scientific understanding of coral ecosystems. This is only the beginning.

Such an inspiration story for me, ocean has been a dream for me since I was a baby but life goes on and that part in me become smaller. I would one to adopt some corals soon and being able to see them every day through live stream is such a great experience. And I love how technology can help a lot for restoration project because we as humans have took many from the Earth, we must protect it now

Which I am sure its the best project when about conservation of our oceans is primordial. There is technology. Want doing it is the next part.
i'm really interested in this project and as computer engineer i hope to see more tech stuff 😄. Am i wrong or you are creating a dataset on your own by labeling fishes into images taken by camera underwater? i wander if you can expose that task on the web to quickly fill a reliable dataset. i'm looking forward your next news

That is a cool idea to utilize a citizen science approach to data collection. Certainly something to think about.
