Cam was on a different level of speed, aggression, and ability for the summer league. Even though he didn't have the best 1st half, his presence and awareness was way ahead of this league's level of play. Maybe 2 more games for he and Reed, then pulled out for the remainder

I was mostly impressed by his defensive tenacity. For me, the shooting and playmaking were expected. I didn't think he'd get his hands in the cookie jar of all many players.

We may be underestimating Raphael Stone’s vision in how he is constructing this team. Reed Sheppard as future starting PG is real thing. I can also further understand the trade with Phoenix and Brooklyn even more. We do not want to draft in the lottery anymore because we have our pieces.

All those other guys can play as a team but I don’t know yet if this two can sacrifice to play team ball. The most important thing Ime Udoka have to do during training camp is assign roles. Let guys know their roles on the team. You don’t want multiple guys thinking they’re the Alpha and need to take majority of the shots. Every successful team have ~two go to guys and the rest complementing them.

Good pod Jackson. what stood out to me about Reed was his basketball IQ. when playing on ball he controlled the flow of the game and got the team a good shot each time down the floor. I expected the shooting to be there, but the floor awareness and ability to dictate pace surprise me. I also was impressed with ball handling. they said this guy was coming off the bench at KY, what I want to know is who the hell was in front of this kid.LOL. AJ was disappointing. I didn't think his defense was good and the shots he took looked more forced than natural. I know this system is new for him, but I expected more. will be watching for improvement from him next game. I was a little disappointed in Cam also. there is no doubt in my mind Cam can score. what I wanted to see was him expand his game as a facilitator and he was spotty in that area. Nate looked good, but he is a long shot to make the final roster because we already have a log jam at his position. the rest looked like D-league players

Kentucky unbridled spirit is sumn we pride ourselves on and this kid undoubtedly embodies that mentality! As a lifelong KY resident and fan, thinks it's fair to say Houston will have a lot more rockets fans from KY and a shite ton more eyes tuned in on game day

For me, the moment I realized that Sheppard is the Rockets point guard of the future was on the very first play. Reed passes up a contested three and moves into key for a pull up mid-range jumper. Rather than take the shot, he dishes to Cam coming underneath for a beautiful reverse layup. That showed me everything I need to know about him. I fully expect Cam to play one more game like Smith and Eason last year, then get pulled leaving Reed to carry on.

Reed reminds me of Steph in this game. His style is just like Steph’s.

Probably his playmaking he looked so comfortable running the offense and setting guys up it’s hard to believe that he only 20 years old It’s early of course but if Reed continues to improve he will have a legit case on forcing the rockets hand to make him the PG of the future

The only problem is Jalen Green has the same agent as Reed (which is why he was there to congratulate Reed) So from a politics point of view their agent will want to keep them together and Rockets will want to maintain a good relationship with their agent

I wouldn't call Whitmore's performance disappointing. Remember, Jabari looked bad until the 2nd half of that first game in year 2. Whitmore was still able to do what he wanted despite not being the lead scorer

@Jackson, since he's Curry reincarnated, you should ask him if he can spin a basketball on his fingertip. There was a US basketball interview recently seeing who all could spin a basketball on fingertips. Shockingly Curry couldn't, even Embiid could. lol this would make him better than Curry + that Max Vert 😎🎉

I definitely feel like he was being very patient with his touches which is something I appreciate. He had a good amount of 3pt opportunities that he passed on looking for something else which I took as confidence on what’s on his scouting report personally. Feel like he was trying to show he could work along side any of our stars and still find something to add.

I will tell you the truth. Reed looked simply like a vet out there. At one point it looked to me like the reincarnation of Curry. He's great fundamentals and his 3PT shot is deadly and legit; it's not fluke. I said already and I'll say it again; Atlanta and Washington are going to regret passing on Sheppard. Curry might be in his way out but Sheppard is in his way in.

Jalen Green had better watch his back because Cam could be coming for that job.

I was impressed with Reed's deep shooting range. In the broadcast they kept mentioning him hitting it from the logo. He needs a nickname having something to do with his shooting. I was also impressed with his mid-range and I have to mention the moves he put on Knecht. I had no idea he had that in his bag. I certainly don't see him spending much(if any) time in the G-league. I do think he is vulnerable to defensive pressure. I don't think people realize the effect of having a guy who has to be covered way out there on the perimeter - there is going to be so much room to operate!
