one thing I have noticed from this hyper os on redmi 12 is that the lock screen doesn't have in-depth yet while other xiaomi's phones which updated to hyperOS have it. Not sure why

Are you talking about the lock screen customization feature of android 14? It's there but you'll have to use the classic/default theme to make the full use of it. I'm currently using a custom lock screen, so it looked a bit messed up in the video.

That's correct, it isn't in depth yet. And Always on display is only available on amoled display and Redmi 12 has IPS LCD display.

As it is a new name that Xiaomi came up with, maybe they won't change this name soon. But time will speak.

I don't think they will bring in anything new to this phone. Their main excuse for not giving the control center is the performance issue. I have contacted them several times via the services & feedback app but they seemed to reply with the same answer every time saying that it doesn't support the new control center yet. Let's see if anything new comes in the upcoming days.

Old control center + gray is not blurry, this is the part I dislike most about the untidy aesthetic

It depends on the company of course. Every company tries to stick with their signature UI pattern to distinguish themselves separately in the market. They may make minor changes in the upcoming days but I don't think they would completely change how it looks unless they have a better design to offer.

MIUI dialer availability depends on the variant of Redmi 12. On International Global Rom, it has google dialer(my phone) and Indonesian, Chinese, Indian, Russian Rom has MIUI dialer and call recording without announcement available.

How much free space is available before the update and after the update?

Haven't noticed the difference as mine is a 256 GB variant. The update size was 4.4 GB.

I haven't changed my custom theme after I have installed HyperOS. Maybe that's why it is still unchanged. Current Theme app isn't fully compatible with HyperOS update. It'll eventually become compatible soon with next updates.

There's no official way to get back to the old version. If you still want to go back to old version, you have to unlock bootloader and follow some tutorials to get back to the old version but it is not recommended as in certain countries, it may void the warranty of the device. You may try reaching out to the service center instead to consult with their representatives just to be on the safe side.

I literally hate this phone and with i could return it. The 4gb ram version is hell. No Custom recovery, No Custom roms, No root, No control center, Phone is laggy asf. Terrible

Check your system update screen to look for new updates but it is a subject to eligibility(if your device is an old model) and different variants of the same model will receive updates at different times.

My old mom phone redmi 8a dual with 2gb have control center but this redmi 12 dont have such a shame.

Xiaomi says that the new control center has performance issues with this device. Even though older number series phones with MIUI 12.5 had the new control center too having a lower chipset. Indeed it's a shame for them. Everyone purchasing this model regrets having no control center support.

@@user-ob6tk7qb4k your files should not get deleted. If it did, consider it as bad luck. Xiaomi usually recommends backing up important files before major system updates just to be on the safe side.

@@salmanpaking6358 look for keyboard settings and you'll find themes for keyboard. If you're using gboard, then it should be available if you press and hold the comma button to bring up the settings menu for gboard. I could not find any way to change the colors of the google dialer window though.

I sent them feedback a few times on this but they kept on saying that it isn't supported by this device and they don't seem to bother about adding a new control center. But the more people keep showing their demand, the more they would think of adding a control center to this device.
