The color of the G8 is great, think it will fit my incoming Redmagic 9 Pro in Snowfall color nicely :D Also, agreed on the light bleed, I think it would look better if it was more diffused instead of bleeding through the case.

Check out the aileron from gamesir new and ironically red magic got one called double blade now 😂😂 definitely same product different faces 😂😂😂

I opened the GB and used a pair of sharp plier clippers, it's easy to take the plastic tags off in one move. Then I used a foot hard skin removal sander to smooth out any inperfections. I use it with a Lenovo Y700 2023 SD 8 gen 1, 8 inch tablet, awesome setup.

hands down RedMagic Shadow Blade 2... Actually G8 Galileo and RedMagic Shadow Blade 2 CN ver. came out at the sametime, and snatched it right away. The ONLY USB-C + Hall-effect mobile controller with semi transparent case.

I don't think so. The springs would be in the way. I have seen somebody mod the X2 to have dual fans, but it was a pretty comprehensive and in-depth mod. It should be possible to do something similar to the G8! Check out the video here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/qJaA2rF6ZavRoJc.html

Anything about the software for the red magic version? Didn’t really want to install the gamesir app as it seemed intrusive

This left me with a question: If with this modification you can stretch it much more than the original limit, how can the part opposite the side with usb-c send the commands to the cell phone if there are no cables connecting the 2 parts?

@@RetroBreezeYT Oh ok. I had seen in another video you explained that the springs carried energy to the other side, but I had no idea that this could pass the command inputs in the same way. I thought it would be something more complex, with flat cables and so on... It's good to know that I won't be electrocuted either. 😅

Is this compatible with the iPhone 15 just like the Galileo G8? Someone on Reddit said no, so this would be a very important differentiator between the two.

oh man, I wish I hadn’t found this video immediately after ordering a regular gray Gamesir G8. this translucent black version looks soooo nice! 🤤 the only thing they could have done better is the funky lettering on the ABXY buttons. hmmm should I cancel my G8 order and get one of these on AliExpress?

It doesn't work natively. Some people say that connecting a Bluetooth controller to the game followed by the Red magic will make it work, but I haven't been able to unfortunately.

Has anyone used this with the Lenovo Y700? I'm curious if it also requires the jumpstart method to work

The G8 Galileo and the Shadow Blade 2 are the same controller. Just different branding and colors. I use the Shadow Blade 2 with the Red Magic 8sPro. I just want some different face plates.

I would get it but it doesn't have vibration motors

Really hoping these controllers start supporting tablets natively in the near future. Also not being able to turn the LEDs off is sadly a dealbreaker for me.

Can anyone that have the G8 controller please tell me what is the length of the stand on which the phone is placed?? That sliding platform. Please I've searched whole internet and I cant find even a one fckn picture of Oneplus 12 inside this gamepad. It's the exact same as the G8 in every way, so no rumble. Your phone has rumble though, doesn't it? Genuine questiom, isn't that enough?

@@RetroBreezeYT It is not enough because using PsPlay app (ps5 streaming) the phone or tablet itself does not Rumble, just the controller if It does Rumble motors. Also with BetterXcloud app , did you try this?, the android tablet or phone itself does not rumble. BSP D9 does

Beside color you forgot the price is also the difference. I go with the original because it cheaper.

got my g8 yesterday and its brilliant but the joysticks are longer..

My phone works with a very thin tpu case really the kicker is whether the USB connector will fit with the case.

Gamesir Controllers usually work fine with thin cases. Trimming the "fins" on the side with the USB-C connector might give enough clearance. I think I'm going to test this with one of my X2 controllers

Damn that colour looks so much better but I cant find it for sale in NZ and if I order it direct from RedMagic it'll cost WAY more than just ordering the G8 from PBTech :/

Yes but it's actually a problem with the game, not the controller. If you connect a Bluetooth controller AND this/G8, it will work

Absolutely no reason to tear back the rubber to get at the screws. All you have to do is feel for the 3 screws with the end of your screw drive and pierce it and unscrew them. No peeling back the rubber and you are left with just slight holes that are barely noticeable and won't be seen at all with the phone in it. The. usb passthrough charging doesn't work with 2 of my phones. Crappy because I bought the 1 phone as a dedicated gaming phone to leave in the Gamesir g8 but now have to take it out every time I want to charge it.

It seems like you have gotten the newer revision of the Shadow Blade 2, hence the transparent joystick module and red stem. I checked older reviews of the Shadow Blade 2 and they have the black box and black stem. I have a recently purchased G8 Galileo and I have the red stem, unlike most reviews with black stem.

Probably worth doing a comparison between the older (black stem) and newer revisions (red stem) if you end up buying a new set of G8 Galileo. Someone on Reddit said the triggers and some buttons feel different.

I wish they would release a Bluetooth version, so I could use my iPhone 13 Max Pro.

I like shadow blade 2 way more the color look way better I don't like the color scheme of the G8 Galileo

yeah the shadow blade 2 is hella cool. I REALLY didn't like the G8 looks. I'm not really a big fan of the SNES ook of it.

They just did the same with the new Gamesir x4 Aileron, but named Nubia RedMagic wireless mobile gaming controller. It's literally identical, with the exact same swappable sticks and buttons, but with different colors and lighting options. Wierd thing is, though, that the RedMagic has been for sale since mid april, while Gamesirs x4 launched just 4 days ago...

@@kennymccormick8295 Assume you're making a joke, but yes. Literally, not figuratively, like when someone says two songs are "identical", or a celebrity lookalike looks "identical". The Nubia RedMagic is literally identical in design, apart from the colorations. Not even subtle either, so I assume theyre made/produced under the same license/pattent by the same company

I like black but hate the tacky Redmagic logo

This mod is unnecessary. All you need to do is bend and twist both sides while pulled apart and the unit will separate with those stoppers still intact.

Sounds like something I wouldn't be comfortable doing repeatedly. It's also important for the controller to return to its original shape to protect the springs when it's not in use.

@@RetroBreezeYT It’s a minimal movement. I tried it and on the fourth or fifth attempt it worked. So just a few mins the first time. After that you get the technique. In terms or repeating, I imagine there would be some loosening off which would actually make it easier to separate. Each to their own, but this is the less intrusive option which leaves the unit unmodded.
