Great vid. Those JConcepts are bad ass. Next service on the diffs, try 100 rear, earplugs and 500k (50/50) center, 200 front. I have both rigs and I'd say the Xmaxx is better quality. But the Vigilante looks better and has a better motor and ESC, Its also $150 less.

Yes but the Vigilanty does not need as many upgrades to be tough like the x Maxx it already has a hobbywing system and good tires and better diffs pionion spur and aluminum 7075 knuckles front and rear !!

@@johnsorensen5758 I have 100,000 in front and 60,000 in rear but that’s what I had laying around… middle is most important to stop the front tires from ballooning… you could go thicker in the front and rear as well you just want to make sure something is in there so the gears stay happy… it’s an awesome truck so far you won’t be disappointed

When you say it was “diffing out” with the stock diff fluid what does that mean? I bought a vigilante but haven’t taken it out yet

The differential fluid in the center differential is to thin so when you accelerate the truck tends to send all the power to the front causing the front tires to balloon … if you put thicker fluid in the center differential the truck will apply power more evenly front to back

Ya the vigilantes body is thicker than the xmaxx… makes it sound better on hard landings

For those getting into 1/5 scale game what would you recommend i like the value of red cat and electronics but xmaxx in the long run seems to have more support buts it way more expensive and for worse electronics

At this point the xmaxx is a better option if you’re new to the hobby… it’s just easier to find parts for at local hobby shops… so far the Vigilante is holding up well… I had to shim up the center diff, cause it started skipping. … but as of now you have to order parts directly from redcat.

@@stonejss727 I’m not new to the hobby but yeah everyone tells me the same thing I admit the Redcat appeals to me more aesthetically but if the xmaxx is just better I’ll go with it eventually lol already have to many cars lol

@@tonymartinez6974 You might have to shim the center diff in the vigilante but it definitely drives better kind of like the xrt… I’d try the redcat… parts are cheap… and when I ordered parts it took a week so not to bad

If they were both completely stock….the Vigilante might be tougher…. It has better electronics, and the gears are holding up well so far…. an xmaxx with stock arms, hubs, servo, pinion, spur… etc… do tend to break pretty easy… I think people forget that… once you upgrade the arms to HD, gears to HD,hubs to aluminum , and servo gears to metal then I’d say the xmaxx is tougher…. only time will tell with the Vigilante… once I get some more packs through it I’ll know for sure

So far… I’m having some issues with the center diff skipping once it warms up…. It definitely needs an aluminum center diff so it stops expanding… I’m sure someone will make it

Ya.. actually I feel the same way…. It helps you get a better feel of the truck…It was really windy… I forgot my go pro so I used my iPhone…so there was a lot of wind noise… sorry
