I remember liking Newsradio in the late 90’s/early 2000’s. So I gave Rogan’s standup a chance when I accidentally caught it a few years later. He was absolutely tanking and dying at some event with funny comedians. He saved himself by ripping on Carlos Mencia, winning back over the crowd by calling him a joke thief. It was kind of a pathetic way to save himself. He’s a good UFC commentator and was a decent host on some of those other forgettable shows he did in the late aughts/early teens. That’s it. I’ll give it to him: he’s an example how someone dreadfully mediocre can become really successful if they constantly grind, say yes to absolutely everything and everyone on their way up, then appropriately gatekeep and hold just enough fake-edgy but truly en vogue opinions once they’ve made it

He knows when to let people speak, asks good/smart questions (even when talking to scientists). His comedy is pretty mediocre but i can see why his podcast got so popular. Hes def on a downwards spiral RN tho.

I use to love listening to his podcasts at work and stopped when he moved to Spotify (I downloaded the app but it wouldnt let me close my screen), but I've been listening to him again since he's back on KZread and I can browse through the comment section again
