Redback Spiders Tank Of Life And Death Week 8 Time Lapse

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

Deadly Redback Spiders Week 8 Timelapse. Spiderlings start flowing out of spider egg sacs and this starts to completely change the spider enviroment. There are 5 dominate female Redback spiders who all have their own zones for their cluster of spider eggs. The new born spiderlings generate masses of spider webs as they try to move onto new areas to live. But the spider tank stops them from world domination. These tiny killer spiders will either become food for other spiders or evolve into dominate super spiders. The most graphic aspect to these spiders is how they will turn on each other. Again we will see a large female spider kill and eat another large female. Even the very young spiderlings have a killer instinct! I'm out to prove the Australian Redback spider is the most deadly and dangerous spider on the planet. The Female Redback spiders are so adept at killing anything that enters their webs. Video posted as educational, documentary, and scientific and forms part of my Redback Spider study series of videos.
KZreadr Beanmeister22 had the idea for this Terrarium. It's decorated with a CAT Bulldozer toy, Thomas The Tank (Wooden Railway), Minecraft Minifigure Steve with TNT and Star Wars Millennium Falcon (Hot Wheels Diecast). This Terrarium has garden soil and other garden bugs that were in the compost heap. It's a fun and inexpensive home for the most interesting and deadly pets I have ever had.

The Redback spider (Latrodectus hasseltii) is a species of venomous spider indigenous to Australia. It is a member of the cosmopolitan genus Latrodectus, the widow spiders. The adult female is easily recognised by her spherical black body with a prominent red stripe on the upper side of her abdomen and an hourglass-shaped red/orange streak on the underside. Females have a body length of about 10 millimetres (0.4 in), while the male is much smaller, being only 3-4 mm (0.12-0.16 in) long. Mainly nocturnal, the female Redback lives in an untidy web in a warm sheltered location, commonly near or inside human residences. It preys on insects, spiders and small vertebrates that become ensnared in its web. It kills its prey by injecting a complex venom through its two fangs when it bites, before wrapping them in silk and sucking out the liquefied insides. Male spiders and spiderlings often live on the periphery of the female spiders' web and steal leftovers. Other species of spider and parasitoid wasps prey on this species. The Redback is one of few arachnids which usually display sexual cannibalism while mating. The sperm is then stored in the spermathecae, organs of the female reproductive tract, and can be used up to two years later to fertilise several clutches of eggs. Each clutch averages 250 eggs and is housed in a round white silken egg sac. The Redback spider has a widespread distribution in Australia, and inadvertent introductions have led to established colonies in New Zealand, Japan, and in greenhouses in Belgium.
The redback is one of the few spider species that can be seriously harmful to humans, and its preferred habitat has led it to being responsible for the large majority of serious spider bites in Australia.

    Leo - been waiting a long time for this so thank you. love how you are learning this stuff yourself as you observe more and more. Really engaging (and very horrifying at the same time). First though that came into my head was around the females 'intention' for laying the eggs. I think we always assume generically in nature that reproduction is for continuation of the species etc but could the redback primarily do this for a good source? deffinately fits with their nature and focus on self survival. Kind of ties in with the female sabotaging the spiderling's web. Then again I'm no expert so could be miles out...

    I just hope I'm showing stuff that's not really been seen before. These spiders are night spiders and live in really secluded areas. The true horror to how they operate is shocking. But hey thats a spiders life. If your a spiderling there is a 98% chance your just a easy meal for a larger spider or lucky lizard, frog or whatever.

    I have stumbled into a Redback spider web that was strung roughly 6 foot up in a shed. There was a piece of corrugated iron leaning up against a bookshelf, and a Redback set up camp and built up its web in that triangle inside. I am in NSW and so I have noticed similar trends in the rise in amount of Redbacks prevalent in our backyard (although I haven't witnessed the caterpillar infestations you have had). They seem to come back, no matter what you do.

  • @leokimvideo

    @leokimvideo

    7 жыл бұрын

    Hell 6 foot up is very high. Thats basically head height. One thing I know is chemical controls do zero to pull down the populations. I bet the chemical companies love that fact. Redbacks are tricky because they can adapt to so many living environments. They can also have expended periods without any food. If the nukes do hit these spiders will certainly survive.

    I love your videos, Leo! I'm deeply phobic anything in the Latrodectus family (weirdly I'm not too bothered any other species of spider), yet I can't stop watching these. Excellent editing and VERY interesting tank dynamic! I can definitely see the need to cull some of your adult females so the spiderlings will have even a minute chance of survival. Like everyone else has said, PLEASE be careful with these spiderlings! I wouldn't be surprised to find out a couple of them found a way out. :/

    One thing I know is the Redback spiders will survive. Being under water does not kill them

    redback spiders form air bubbles in water. if you didnt see beanmister22, it shows he tries to drown a redback spider but it doesnt work because of its air bubbles

    The mature redbacks are tearing the younglings web down because that's where the food comes from. They must have seen you introducing stuff into the tank. All they know is that something happens above them and suddenly there is food in the tank. The younglings webs are between them and the top so it needs to come down.

    Week 16, but there is a sideline Mantis mini series and other battle bugs along the way. By week 16 this spider tank looks like a nuke hit it Vs how it looks now.

    It actually looked like there were tiny spiderlings crawling out of the dead spiders abdomen, but since it was time lapsed, they could've been going in
