I miss when Jason would talk us through a shoeshine and why he was doing what he did. I learned a lot about both the parts of a shoe, and how to clean it while also being incredibly relaxed.

how come with some shoes you wipe saddle soap off quickly and other you leave it on longer? is it because of dirty levels or does saddle soap have a negative potential effect if you leave it on certain types of finishes longer?

Sometimes, but it doesn’t even exist anymore. Nordstrom changed up the space into a different storage space in that part of the stockroom. Sad isn’t it??

Thanks! Yeah legend has it if you walk into the stockroom at night and chant the word “Shineboy” three times you’ll here the sounds of brushstrokes and saddle soap brushes. 😆
