Sm is lucky considering when Wendy was auditioning, she got turned down y multiple labels but not SM. SM saw something in her and we see it. I bet those labels who turn her down are kicking themselves for not scooping up such a talent when they had the chance.

But in the end, they all look good. Its the basis of every boy/girl group. Talent....vs hardwork, they both get someone to their destination. Sure, there are those who are always higher in the industry. But, at the same time, all the companies have their own talents. Some in the form of vocals, in the form of dancing and also when producing music. So no. Its not sm that has talents and visual. Its not jyp that has talents and yg with visuals. Its that they all have trainees or idols, that are working hard to do what they like.

Wendy has such soul and great techniques shown just like Taeyeon. Seulgi has the unique vocal colour just like Seohyun, pure clean and pretty. Joy is not that similar with Tiffany but both of them are decent in both singing and rapping which makes them super lovable (both are fruits too! Refreshing visuals)

This was absolutely amazing. I don't see why people are surprised by Joy's vocals. Must have missed the many song where her Seulgi and Wendy are hitting high notes for days ie Red Dress, oh boy and a song or two off their previous mini album. But literally such a great performance. Literally when Wendy belted out at the very end I felt that and literally started to tear up. And also the harmonies between the three, BEAUTIFUL. I love this vocal line combination because they all can sing and they all sing within their strengths they don't try to hit notes that they know they aren't able to hit comfortably. I hope they get to perform more ballad stages like this in the future because it was amazing.

im pretty sure wendy was suppose to debut as a soloist. i think the original red velvet member included gong seung yeon and when she left they added wendy and introduced her as an sm rookie and as the 3rd member of red velvet but their was many talks that sm thought her voice was good enough to debut as a soloist.

What are you saying??!?!?! Irene and Solar are both oldest in each group (25) and are the same age! Hwasa the youngest is only 20 and Joy is 19 if you don't count yeri who joined later. They just give a more mature look because they are so much more professional than many existing groups out there.

Red Velvet sub unit proposition: Joy: leads the verses and harmonies Seulgi: does the main choruses Wendy: comes in right at the end and absolutely SMASHES the power part Share it out like this: Joy singing majority, her voice has so much beautiful simplicity, but her soft, light tone is ideal for the majority of the song Seulgi singing the choruses, her voice is a good base for them Wendy singing the least for a reason... because her part will be so massive and reserved for the end to blow the song up

Joy really impressed me here, her voice has always surprised me but not as much as it did here. She does have some improvements to make (she looks like she's holding back and is having a bit of trouble projecting which is mostly probably due to nervousness) but beautifully done nonetheless. Those things are easy to improve through practice and I'm excited to watch her vocals grow ☺️☺️☺️.

I love how they didn't outshined each and instead complimented and harmonized. Joy doesn't have that strong vocal such as Wendy and Seulgi but bitchhhhh she has the voice of an angel which fits the song 😍

Seulgi is my favorite singer in RV, and Wendy is obviously a powerful singer, but I'm glad Joy was up there with them because she sings EXTREMELY well, too, and she doesn't get as much attention as Wendy and Seulgi. My favorite part was when they all harmonized together! I mean, WOW!

Wendy really had been in a choir group for this. this was definitely her food and she ate this. This really showed her background as a choir singer. her voice projection just explained it all especially during the high note starting at 3:38 😂 and it's amazing how clear and loud her voice is even when the mic is quite far away from her lips. she really knows how to balance her voice to not overshadow the other members. Imagine if she placed the mic closer, lmao we would be dead already with her voice 😭

This is one of the reason why I love and hate SM for! They recruit talented people like these three but only showcase the voice of one! I never knew Joy was this good because she doesn't get to show it with their songs but I at the same time cannot blame them since they are idol girl group and people prefer lively songs from them but this made me love red velvet a lot more!

i feel like SM finds the right time/concept for that certain member ex. taemin. back then taemin rarely had lines but during Hello they finally showcased his vocals and now he has a solo. Kai too did not have many lines before he was only allowed to sing little parts but now in monster his vocals are showcased more. amber used to only rap and now she has a solo. SM tends to (idk for sure this is just what i've noticed haha) develop their artists vocals more before letting them out as if they were some kind of hidden card bc at first you're like aw he/she probably cant sing that well and then the next comeback you see immense improvement. this is just what i've noticed btw :)

Lol..I know this been years ago but I felt funny to read others comparing the member with one another. They in one team lol..stop comparing for goodness sake. Each of them can sing, dance and born visual..jeeezzz they had their own specialty and colour in singing ok. Wendy sound like WENDY, Seulgi sound like SEULGI and Joy sound like JOY. No member can be like other member. They are uniques in their own talent. Can you just appreciate the song my goodness. Where did the real meaning of music gone lol..people were toxic everywhere now. People need to enjoy music more and this kind of music and their vocal need to be praise. Bravo for them indeed a singer.

I watched Seulgi’s dance videos then I came here and thought, damn she can do anything. She might be a lead vocal in RV but she must be a main vocal in other groups. Of course she could be a main dancer in any group. Red Velvet is just a perfect group like their album’s title: Perfect Velvet ❤️❤️❤️

Honestly if you look at just the vocal line, Red Velvet ranks very well next to other girl groups. They always surprise me, especially since I didn't see them as very strong when I first heard of them. But honestly Wendy is better than most main vocalists around right now and Seulgi better than a fair amount of leads
