This heart that loves sweet sounding music no matter the genre. The Sweet harmonica, the steel guitar, the strumming of the acoustic guitar. the sweet violin, the harmonizing of the voices with the lyrics. I played it over and over again till I lost count!

That was one of the first songs I ever learned to play on the violin and sing with my father playing guitar how I long for those days again I'm now 72 and my father has been gone many years and my mother as well I sit here with tears in my eyes remembering those days
So sad that Marty died so young. Still loved and remembered. England, October, 2023.
This song reminds me of my younger days .. way back years ago .. bringing back tons of good old memories .. almost bring tears to my eyes ..

I know how you feel. It’s nice to remember back to simpler times. Things were not always so great but they are slowly replaced by the pleasant memories.
Good song to listen everyday .this song brings light into your life when it is dull

Puea is land of Kings! I don’t want to get into Hawn History 3:25 , but Puea Is home of 3:25 ! Most Hawaiian Kings came from Puea. Kawiwi Ridge had a Hawaiian Battle. Poe is Kaliko’s son (Kaliko is MANONO’s daughter) if I goofed overlook it🎵

For me when first listening to this song when im 13yo. Its my first intro to my english medium school. With a sentimental heart i started memorising this song. I am 70 now but still remember even not all verses. Its a nostalgic moments of a kid with memories that only oneself will understand.
Absolutely wonderful! Thank you!!!
I have loved Marty since childhood and he is still my favorite singer of all time
This was my dad's favorite song. His tough as nails demeanor hid a heart of pure gold. Semper Fi my Hero!

My dad often played this on his harmonica
Beautiful beautiful tune. I have heard it before with different lyrics when I was a kid in the 1970s(Jeannie Seely: "Can I sleep in your arms tonight Mister"). This is so sweet it tugs on my heart. This heart that loves sweet sounding music no matter the genre. The Sweet harmonica, the steel guitar, the strumming of the acoustic guitar. the sweet violin, the harmonizing of the voices with the lyrics. I played it over and over again till I lost count!

This song brings back memories of my student days as a Wolf Cub in 1953 when I was 10 years old. The teacher-in-charge was Mr. Yip, who had a great singing voice, taught us this lovely song. Lim TS, 22-2-24 😊

How lovely to hear this sung as intended. I'm UK, I've been watching KZread videos of UK street pianists, Terry Miles and Dr. K (Brendan Kavanagh) - in train stations, shopping malls, pubs, etc. Terry often plays this in Boogie Woogie style - great for getting the feet dancing. Mch'24. E ❤
