    The heavy focus on thorns and roses is so cool for red mage and reminds me of the red mages from bravely default. The main reason I main red is because of how beautiful and elegant the job is, and they just keep making it better. I cannot wait to get my hands on it and hit the practice dummies.

    Sprout here ^^/ 💯 agree! It really feels free over the other classes. Most I know on my server arent into it, I cant really see why? Such Beauty! Really trying not to switch under pressure. Not super keen on the fencing stance though, a similiar styled job based around an imperial period chinese, wu shu swordsman with dragon magic. More shield > Pure healing. Dragon Eye party buffs like ASN cards system. Getting carried away but yeah the stance lol.

    I love how Red Mage is shifting more and more into a rose aesthetic in vanilla without the need for special "magic"

    Grand Impact looks beautiful! That red into blue fade is dope. I hope they never change it or take it out

    This is great but why is manification still 110 sec; it’s really awkward when they’re trying to make things a 2 minute burst to have your melee combo outside that 2 minutes

    Thank you for the video! In your time with RDM, did you notice if there's an option to uncouple Jolt and Grand Impact? (I get the feeling you would've mentioned that, but thought I'd still ask.) If this were an option, it would at least somewhat alleviate the problem with Fleche dualcast window alignment. Swiftcast being on a shorter cooldown at 100 is nice and could work for Fleche alignment as it currently does, but if you use it for anything else and misalign Fleche as a result you're kind of out of luck. (I recognize this is a tiny micro-optimization and if you drift Fleche by a second you and your DPS will not die. Would still be nice to have as an option though.)

    I believe that Square have said that you can separate abilities that you gain from another ability, so you should be able to put separate buttons on for it.

    Well I have good news and bad news, the good news is that it's from one of the artifact gearsets! Meaning you don't have to grind anything for this weapon, just do msq and role quests. The bad news is that it's the Dawntrail artifact gear, meaning you can't get it until the release of Dawntrail

    Just wanna say you can still use Accel to realign your Flèche/C6. Accel gives you 1 instant cast per charge (a forced weave window.) New accel gives you 1 instant cast per charge (a forced weave window). It’s the exact same except instead of Verthunder/Veraero, you’ll be using Grand Impact.

    Are you able to hold a stack of Grand Impact Ready or do you need to spend it immediately? If you can hold it, you may still be able to align fleche and contre sixte rather consistently if I'm thinking about it correctly

    I was thinking the exact same thing. If there's no time limit on Grand Impact Ready, you're bound to use it when you need to cast Jolt 3 to get VerFire or VerStone ready, so I don't think it's going to be too much of an issue personally. I hope. Please. Lol

    So is it like this? Manafication pretty much the burst window set starter. - it gives 3 stacks of magic swordplay. - give 6 stacks of manafication, which is increase magic damage dealt by 5%. so if you use up all 6 damage buff, can get cineration. If you have 50 50 mana for the burst window. 1) Manafication 2) Embolden 3) 3 Swordplay +5% manafication + 5% embolden 4) 3 finisher +5% manafication + 5% embolden 5) Cineration (using manafication button) + 5% embolden 6) 3 swordplay + 5% embolden 7) 3 finisher + 5% embolden ----------------- For the mobility seems only works after lv 84. Acceleration with 2 charges, can instant cast Verthunder 3, Veraero 3, and impact. acquired at lv 50 Ensures Verfire and Veraero triggered. Grants Grand impact ready. Grand Impact Jolt 3 and Impact change to grand impact. Means it only works after level 84 if it's only Jolt 3. Not sure if you can use it with impact button for when you sync to below 84. After lv 84. Acceleration with 2 charges now give 2 ogcd each? 1) Acceleration + Verthunder 3 2) Grand Impact 3) Acceleration + Veraero 3 4) Grand Impact 5) Swiftcast + Verstone Jolt 3, 360 potency at lv 84 So Jolt 2 RDM damage between lv 62 to 84 got nerfed from 320 to 280. if you happen to not proc something... looking at ucob, uwu and tea.

    More like - Manafication - 3 Swordplay melee +5% manafication - Embolden >> burst window > burst window ends

    Grand Impact is level 96. You will not be able to use it until then, at all. Until then acceleration works the exact same as it does right now. A single use of aero/thunder/impact. After 96 you get a use of aero/thunder/impact + grand impact.

    Nah, Firion is FF XIV main character. He is master of arms, which mean he main every job in the game 😂

    Just wanted to clarify that Jolt II did NOT lose potency. Jolt II is currently upgraded from 280 to 320 at lvl 84 via Red Magic Mastery III. As of 7.0, Jolt II (280) will upgrade to Jolt III (340) at lvl 84 instead. This is a gain of 20 potency for levels 84-90, while levels 83 and below are unchanged.

    If Acceleration now converts Impact to Grand Impact, how do you get the 50 potency boost on Impact from Acceleration?

    You still get the effect of Acceleration so you can press Grand Impact and then also press regular Impact with the 50 Potency bonus applied

    Im slightly concerned with how red mages reopener is going to get changed because of these changes. Im gonna have to rebrain how to do my reopeners for a double finisher inside of buffs I suspect, which will be...slightly annoying.

    Its probably exactly the same, only difference is you only need 50 Mana if not way less, since you get 8 White & Black from Scorch and Resolution, and then 11 from Flare or Holy, so you can Double Finisher with only 42 - 31 minimum, and Embolden will stay for both finishers

    @@Oizys0miseria that's what I'm hoping but we will see. I just wonder if melee combo timing before embolden will have to change for reopener to fit double finisher since we have a new finisher action on top of the old combo.

    No since the melee combos still just cost 50 mana. you can still do them twice then manafication for a free use and triple weave. the change just makes it where you dont accidentally lose out on mana if you click manification while having over 50 mana.

    I am actually pleasantly surprised by the acceleration grand impact change as it makes rotations a lot different. I dont like manafication not being based off gauge as balancing mana was an interesting part of the job. .this looks good

    wouldn't make sense to keep it. since this is a sweeping change to gauge jobs I imagine fight design forced overcaps would be an issue. Rdm isn't the only one to get this treatment and it would honestly suck not to have it when other jobs do

    The visual effects are looking great but I'm a bit dissapointed by the lack of new utility skills. I main Red and was hoping to get a new mechanic to play around with but instead there's just more clicking. No mention about rework or complete removal of Reprise, one of the most useless skills in the game - why not replace it with a new skill that actually does something useful or chains together into a combo instead? Will have to play it to get the gist of it but overall I feel like not adding a new mechanic revolving around Black/White mana is a missed opportunity.
