Same here. I went my last your in HS (1983), came back with my son in 2015. He LOVES it. We haven't missed a year since (other then when the border was closed).

Im a total newbie to fishing. Can you recommend any tips or videos on how to find fish without a fish finder or with in lakes in Ontario? Do different species change criteria? Im interested in fishing as a skill for fun but also in a survival situation. Is there a resource out there like maps that help. Thanks

The best chance you have to catch a fish is your ability to find structure. If you don't have a depth finder, you'll have to use your eyes. Don't spend your time fishing a straight shoreline. Look for a long point or something that is very irregular. Doing that i will greatly increase your odds. Good luck!

@@StructureFishing does this apply to icefishing?I see lots of huts just in the middle of the lake. Never close to structures near shorelines as you suggest.

@@JediStockTrader There are many mid lake structures (humps & reefs). More than likely that's where the huts are set up.
