Red Hot Chili Peppers is a rock band renowned for their hits “Californication,” “Otherside,” “Scar Tissue,” “Dani California,” “Can’t Stop,” “Snow (Hey Oh),” and “Dark Necessities.” They worked with artists like George Clinton, Eddie Vedder, and Elton John - amassing billions of global streams and inducted into the “Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.”
Lyrics:
Come to decide that the things that I tried were in my life just to get high on.
When I sit alone, come get a little known
But I need more than myself this time.
Step from the road to the sea to the sky, and I do believe that we rely on
When I lay it on, come get to play it on
All my life to sacrifice.
Hey oh... listen what I say oh
I got your hey oh, now listen what I say oh
When will I know that I really can't go
To the well once more - time to decide on.
Well it's killing me, when will I really see, all that I need to look inside.
Come to belive that I better not leave before I get my chance to ride,
Well it's killing me, what do I really need - all that I need to look inside.
Hey oh... listen what I say oh
Come back and hey oh, look at what I say oh
The more I see the less I know
The more I like to let it go - hey oh, woah...
Deep beneath the cover of another perfect wonder where it's so white as snow,
Finally divided by a word so undecided and there's nowhere to go;
Inbetween the cover of another perfect wonder and it's so white as snow,
Running through the field where all my tracks will be concealed and there's nowhere to go.
Ho!
Went to descend to ammend for a friend of the channels that had broken down.
Now you bring it up, I'm gonna ring it up - just to hear you sing it out.
Step from the road to the sea to the sky, and I do belive what we rely on,
When I lay it on, come get to play it on
All my life to sacrifice
Hey oh... listen what I say oh
I got your hey oh... listen what I say oh
The more I see, the less I know
The more I like to let it go - hey oh, woah...
Deep beneath the cover of another perfect wonder where it's so white as snow.
Finally divided by a word so undecided and there's nowhere to go
Inbetween the cover of another perfect wonder where it's so white as snow
Running through the field where all my tracks will be concealed and there's nowhere to go.
I said hey hey yeah oh yeah, tell my love now.
Hey hey yeah oh yeah, tell my love now.
Deep beneath the cover of another perfect wonder where it's so white as snow,
Finaly divided by a word so undecided and there's nowhere to go.
Deep beneath the cover of another perfect wonder where it's so white as snow...
Running through the field where all my tracks will be concealed and there's nowhere to go.
I said hey oh yeah oh yeah... tell my love now
Hey yeah yeah... oh yeah.y divided by a world so undecided
And there's nowhere to go
In between the cover of another perfect wonder
And it's so white as snow
Running through the field where all my tracks will be concealed
And there's nowhere to go
When to descend to amend for a friend
All the channels that have broken down
Now you bring it up
I'm gonna ring it up
Just to hear you sing it out
Step from the road to the sea to the sky
And I do believe what we rely on
When I lay it on
Come get to play it on
All my life to sacrifice
Hey oh
Listen what I say, oh
I got your hey oh
Listen what I say, oh
The more I see, the less I know
The more I like to let it go
Hey oh, whoa, whoa, whoa
Deep beneath the cover of another perfect wonder
Where it's so white as snow
Privately divided by a world so undecided
And there's nowhere to go
In between the cover of another perfect wonder
Where it's so white as snow
Running through the field where all my tracks will be concealed
And there's nowhere to go
I said hey, hey, yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah, tell my love now
Hey, hey, yeah, oh yeah, tell my love now
Deep beneath the cover of another perfect wonder
Where it's so white as snow
Privately divided by a world so undecided
And there's nowhere to go
Deep beneath the cover of another perfect wonder
Where it's so white as snow
Running through the field where all my tracks will be concealed
And there's nowhere to go
I said hey oh yeah, oh yeah

Hey, yeah, yeah, oh yeah

RHCP is that band you listen to with your parents growing up and when you're an adult it all makes sense. Brings back such a feeling.

My mom and dad used to listen to them for hours. Then Californication is the first video clip I can remember watching. Now about 18 years later and indeed, it all makes sense.

I just want to share a memory with you. I first listened to this song last summer, when I was on Crete. I sat at the pool bar every evening and played chess with two guys from the Netherlands. In the background was music. After one game was finished we ended up sitting at the bar talking to the bar keeper and one of the two guys went to bed. Then this song started and the bar keeper & the guy, that stayed from the Netherlands started singing to this song and I was literally flashed. After their performance I asked them for the song name, I gave the guy from the Netherlands my phone and he wrote down the song name in my notes. I still have the note on my phone til today. I'm sure I'll never see any of them again but it feels good to have this little memory with them. Thank you for listening.

I'll give to your Dad that Sinatra and other jazz singers like him are among the greatest singers of all time and are impossible to replace and so listening to untrained vocalists (like Kiedis) is a bit jarring for fans that are used to listening to such precision in singing, but I'm sorry, I halfta dock your Dad for failing to recognize the magic and the poeticism of the Chilis. Music is a form of storytelling, a way to share your perspective of the human experience and to paraphrase Kiedis in this song, no matter your experience "...just sing it out."

I'm not a dancer but if this song came on in a club, I'd make a fool out of myself getting down to this. RHCP is a childhood memory for me, a fragment of the good times that I like to look back on. Scar Tissue, Under the Bridge and others always make me feel like I'm home, really home again. This one is just another reason why they are my favorite 90s rock band.

When I first heard this song I was like four years old something like that and my Aunt and Uncle started playing this and my cousins and I were sitting around listening and playing with each other, they continued to play this song for years and whenever I hear this song it reminds me of the times when shit was so simple and fun. Whenever I hear this song I smell the fresh scent of my Uncles barbecued ribs or hot dogs or something and the soft sheets of that house and the smell of my family. The warm hugs of my Aunt and the laughs from my Uncle. It reminds me of making a whirl pool with all the kids in the hot tub. I miss that house so much. I miss my family but whenever I listen to this it makes me feel like they are here and I’m back to that beautiful fun time in my life.

I remember the day my mom bought the Stadium Arcadium album when it was brand new. She got it at a Border's bookstore/coffee shop in the mall that has long since closed. Every day when she would come to pick me up from school, we would listen to the album. This was always my most favorite song off the album. Since then, over 13 years have gone by. I've gone from being 7 to being 21! To anyone reading this: time is so precious. Never waste it. Make as many memories as you can! The little things really do matter. 😃

I'm definitely not a big fan of rock, alternative, or whatever you call this genre, but I absolutely LOVE this song & have since I was a kid.

This song fills me with memories. It was the first ever song I heard by the chilli peppers. And I remember it on fucking rock band and playing it with my uncle. And then later in my life I wanted to actually learn the lyrics and I was at my great grandmas house playing it over and over listening to it on the couch. This song hits me like a fucking freight train

This song has always been my childhood song. My parents played it for me when I was 2 or 3, and I loved it so much that I would dance and jump to the beat. Even on road trips, my dad would play this song on his radio and I would be in the backseat kicking my feet to the beat. I never really knew the lyrics, but I really loved the beat and that guitar! I'm 16 now. I listened to this song again, now I know the lyrics to this song, and man does it hit different. It brings back all the good memories I've had when I was so young, and brings me joy whenever I listen to this song.
