Also, much more variety in setlists. If it's not John's own stuff or written before him, John won't play it. Josh didn't care, he did his own stuff, John's stuff, Dave's stuff, Hillel's stuff, Jack's stuff, didn't matter to him. Won't get that again with John in the band, as much as I do love him.

Jesus Frusciante will always be my personal favorite, but without a doubt the band were their most gorgeous selves on the 2006 Stadium Arcadium tour. I used to live in the same neighborhood as AK when his hair was very long but this is his best hair cut for sure, and John seemingly woke up one day and decided to claim his title as sexiest rock star on the planet which worked for everyone. I always knew he'd return and they'd get back together. He's what makes the Chili Peppers HOT but none of them are as good alone as they are together. 🎸🔥🌶️

My word what a sweet show. Y’know if you fall asleep watching something; it sometimes gets incorporated into your dream.. I fell asleep once with one of their albums on & only johns harmonies were prominent in it- it was so similar to this (mix)..it was beautiful; the loveliest dream I can recall in years.. I think there may well be an almost identical dimension where the other John Frusciante does lead vocal & the other Anthony harmonises in background..

@@1malf the best way to learn and to play it properly is to play it at slower tempo , and to add like 5 or 10 bpm faster, and go on until you reach the right tempo. It's really the best way to learn how to play any songs :)

if you listen closely he's actually stumbling every 2-3 play throughs. the song can be played nearly twice as fast if you're good at alternate picking, it's just more likely you'll make a mistake. if you're picking it the way he does it's nearly impossible to not make minor mistakes playing it for 2 minutes straight; you'll sometimes pick the same string twice, miss a string, or something like that which is only noticeable to someone who actually plays it the way he does. starting with two downstrokes then alternating is much easier and only 2 or 3 stroke directions are changed, but that minor change makes it much easier to play. however, it has an entirely different and less satisfying feel. josh plays it like that and will make less mistakes than fruiscante. but fruiscante plays it so well that the mistakes are hardly perceptible. on the recorded version it's probably just a handful of playthroughs or even one on a loop, but i don't know.

  • @ToppaliniTube

@Thomas Vicanek-Santaguida i learned from that riff that when you're picking two strings back and forth like fruiscante does a lot, like on dani california, that it's way easier to go down-up so you're always going in the direction of the other string and outside of them, learned that from picking snow. i had such a tough time doing those little back and forth licks until i realized i was inside picking for no reason. if you pick it like he does there's only one little inside picking part but that makes it hard

In our hometown of LA everyone who was anyone was at the Sofi show. John had sound trouble at first, but when he finally walked out to the stage smiling the biggest smile, I burst into tears. People were really emotional and everyone was screaming & yelling, "LOVE YOU, JOHN!" It was more than just awesomeness to see him again. For me, it felt like he brought back with him every memory I'd ever made listening to his songs. When "the cute one" left the band they became RHCP in name only. They did what they had to do to continue making a living but the Magik was gone. Even Flea referred to what they'd been doing as playing covers of their music when their real guy came back. He was exactly right about that. Red Hot Chili Peppers is the manifestation of energy from only four people; Anthony Kiedis, Michael Balzary, John Frusciante and Chad Smith. 🌶️🎸💝
