Flea recorded this bass track as two seperate tracks. One with his fretless bass and one with his bass guitar at that era thus giving him the natural octave effect.

As far as I know the lower (bass? haha) one is in D standard and then plays the same part an octave up on a normal tuned bass.

It's from the bass master set all flea. The bass in the mix is just turned way down

@@coliimusic The main bassline is actually mixed pretty prominently in the song. If anything it's the guitar takes a backseat in the mix. It's just that the octave overdub is lower in volume and sometimes removed entirely
