Yes it is remeniscent of Bark at the Moon... Purposely! He wrote it immediately after hearing "Bark" on the radio for the first time in 15 years and thought to himself "I want to revisit that pattern again" and found a new progression for it. it's called having a "style". Now shut up rock police... until you can accomplish something even close to what Jake has.

To me, the intro riff sounds more like Peter Frampton's "Show Me The Way" than any Ozzy song. Oh, dear Gavin...criticism makes better music. Take away criticism and all you have is a long line of fawning fanboys waiting for autographs. Criticism makes awesome musicians even better. If a band, a musician, (or their fans in this case) can't handle it, then they don't deserve to release albums into the real world where real people can either like or dislike what they hear. Life is hard. True story. I'm not saying to be mean for the sake of being mean. I'm no Simon Cowell and I think he's an asshole. Ditto for Howard Stern. Talk about two pieces of crap who cannot do the things they criticize in others! But, people said awful shit about Queen and Freddie Mercury, and it made them better musicians. Grow up and enter the real world, friend. :)

David S. I don't think there is anything in this song that's close to frampton.as for criticism.its not always correct being it's nothing more than someone's opinion.there has been more times I can remember that someone (supposedly a professional) criticized a song, movie, whatever before it even came out and the results came back that they were wrong.if someone doesn't agree or thinks that something isn't good or something needs to be changed to make it better doesn't always work like that.there are more bands that fell hard by critic's opinions or sometimes bashing of them that they said fuck that this is us and this is how we want to sound ,play, etc.and they became huge, famous, idols, and legends.criticism has made a band better by ignoring shit and doing what they believe in.thats a true story.

Great to see Jake back in action! He has always been one of my favorite players. I like that he is what he is and he doesn't try to be anyone else. This band is somewhat of a no win situation. If the songs are reminiscent of his past then people will complain he's stuck in the past and has nothing new to say or he hasn't progressed over time, but if the songs are completely different then people will say he's not the same player they remember and wish he sounded more like his old stuff. I'm not totally sold on this singer, but I'm going to give it a chance and see where it goes from here. I plan to see him here in OKC on this tour. Welcome back Jake! Rock on!

I still love this song it's sticky, its like you cant get it out of your head so its sticky. Get kick ass song.

Dave Martin I'm interested as to who is on your list? Been looking for some new people to listen too!!
As a old fan of Jake E. Lee (since Bark at the moon), I am So happy to listen.to this kind of sound again.
The Album is great, amazing production and great songs they really did a great job on this.
Been following Jake since Ratt, loved Badlands! They are my license plate on one of my cars.

Memories. After we came back from deployment in 1991 I saw Badlands in a local bar in Fayetteville NC and it was one of the best small venue shows I'd ever seen. Jake was unbelievable.

actually got to hang out with Badlands at a club in Denver, got to talk for a couple of hours before the headed out to Las Vegas, dudes were the coolest guys I ever met, next to Queensryche and Lemmy
Jake my friend, you have been missed!
Jake is and always be a genious musician, this song it´s the proof.Pure class!!!!
Can NOT wait to see these guys on the Monsters of Rock Cruise next week! OMFG! Soooo glad to see Jake E. Lee back in action! One of my favorite guitarists of ALL TIME!
World class hard rock, lovin it! Whole band sounds fantastic. Opening rhythm is phenomenal. Deceived is a very well written tune.

Every year I come back to this song. The riffs and vocal ranges of high/lows and simulate to Ozzy’s runs and stretches at the end of the sentences is a great match with Jake’s playing.
just discovered this. Was a huge Jake fan back in the day. Haven't listened to any new music in about 20 years but damn this is catching my ear. very nostalgic 80s Jake sound. Not sure I hear any of his Ozzy stuff but sounds simple yet powerful.

I agree I don't hear the Ozzy stuff on here either but I always preferred Jake solo anyway. I love all the Badlands music he made and hope to hear some of it when he tours with this band.
This rocks and the singer is AWESOME!!!
oh YES the Return of Jake E Lee, Awsome song!
This song makes me feel like I used to feel when I listened to this kind of music...fucking great!!!!!!
Man I love the fact that Jake has always kept and used the same tone on his riffs. I LOVE THIS BAND! THANK you Jake for coming back!
just found about this . . best new song i've heard in a couple years!!!
This is one rocking song. I love it. Jake E. Lee is back! I hope that the younger generation take notice of what we - his fans since Bark at the Moon and Ultimate Sin - know. Jake was the real star and musical show of force of the Ozzy Osbourne records and tours. What could Ozzy and Sharon do? They fired him and this song says a lot.
I'm 1001 comment, yippee. Jake, still love ya, bruh. People recognize, Jake is now 60 or so. This is awesome.
Rock on Jake!!!! Givin' the ears a right bashing with this song.
this is so cool, can't stop listening! GO JAKE GO!!! glad to have you back!!!
Awesome tune and vocals 👍👍👍
I like the familiar cadence of this song and the little run down the neck gives it some tonal flavor to resolve back to the main riff. Rock on Jake E. Lee!
One of the best choruses I have ever heard ! Nicely done Jake & crew
Luv it. So happy I got to see "Red Dragon Cartel". They are really, really good. They rocked. Great guys too.
Rock on!
I was waiting sooooooooo long to hear Jake his own way. One of best songs last 2 decades! Point!!!!
Always great and rewarding to watch Jake do what he does best!
WHAT A BEAUTIFUL MELODIC SOLO !!!!!!
Killer riff and a contagious groove... Welcome back, Jake!
Jake, your the real deal brother pls keep em coming .Youve always been one of my biggest influences playing guitar.Ive missed u glad your back.
I heard this track & it blew my mind! I'm addicted. Jake & Co. we LOVE you!!! ❤
Great to see Jake E Lee back in action. This album he revisits and gives fans a piece of Ozzy Era, & Badlands which I think is great. I'm sure he intended it to sound like a Bark At The Moon type song, after all he did write Bark At The Moon as well lol. Love the album! Was lucky to be in Japan to get it early. Thanks for coming back Jake! \m/

macheted01 it was ok, not my favorite, but I enjoyed the guitar work, but didn't feel the intro chorus fit well. The vocal style reminded me a lot of something, I just can't put my finger on it....maybe Slash's album? I like the regular version better IMO, but glad to have it on there regardless. Love Japanese releases with bonus tracks, plus got the Magnet as well from Disc Union.

Jake and the Cartel kick some serious ass. This is the type of rock we need. "Amplified CPR" ( made that term up years ago), hits you right in the middle of the chest!!!!!
Red Dragon kicks ass!!
Great song!!!! Jake E. Lee is the man!!!!
Love Jake's vibes this is a man
Don't care for the singing, but Jake more than makes up for it! Soulful, creative guitar shed that sounds like no one else. . . Great job Jake. Thx for giving us great music that's timeless.

JAKE E' LEE RULES!!! Brilliant as always. Greetings from Brazil.
One of the best tunes from an 80's rocker to come out in modern days indeed. Jake E Lee never disappoints! Compared to say Poison etc. who come out with these new tunes and they suck sooo bad compared to the original material.
Damn, Jake E still kicks ass. It just warms the heart.
I Love Red Dragon Cartel!!! I have been Jakes' #1 fan since the 80's I Love him and have missed him and have waited for the the day since Badlands to see Jake againand I have to say this album ROCKS and I cant wait to see them LIVE!!! Love you Jake!!!
Hoooly......thank you jake e! Worth the wait.
Awesome, Darren rocks
Great riff, super catchy chorus. So different and refreshing than anything else out these days. Nice to see Jake pay homage to his Ozzy years, love it.

Jake E Lee is still amazing. I’ll always be a fan. I wish him the best going forward! Keep rocking guitar god👍
I've listened to this 10 times now. Yes, the main riff is a throwback to BATM, but so what? It fucking rocks.

Jake E. Lee....damn, it's good to see him playing again!! I remember when "The Ultimate Sin" came out and just listening to that cassette tape until I wore it out, and then years later we got the amazing BADLANDS!! I still have the LaserDisc of Ozzy with Jake for the Ultimate Sin tour, it has a concert and they mix the videos in with the concert footage, I have to dig my LaserDisc player out and watch that now, or see if it's here on KZread!!
Fabulous, amazing, .. Gentlemen, I bow before you !!! :-))
I love that "bark at the moon" rhythm, by the way!
the magic that is Jake E. Lee. This song is fantastic!

jake I am so glad you did not give up !~! music was awesome in the 80s and 90s and badlands was your baby.life can be cruel but if you have learned anything many people did love your guitar playing.I always thought you were the most gorgous man on the face of the earth still do but I miss seeing and hearing you play glad you took that step and came back and thank god eddie kept pushing you huh.I bet that feeling you feel now is just one hell of a rush.love the guitar riff glad you took this further
Good to hear that sound again!and Jake's got soul,so bored of hearing arpeggggioss played at million miles an hour and those guys cant write a song if there life depended on it!im glad he chose the riff he did, simular to bark but quess what hes not even credited for that thanks to sharon osbourne...what a kick in the face.ya know ultimate sin alblum written by jake while ozzy was in 6 week rehab!!yes ray is unreplaceable face it,and i like ozzys voice with jakes music!!be happy the guys back at least...respect him hes done more than all of us could have ever achieved!! i do predict an ozzy alblum and hell lets hope it throws ozzy back when he sounded best music wise.Jake if you read this brother..its so refreshing to have you back brother!!!!
Love this singer great vocals.
GREAT song. Excellent vocals. Smoking guitar riff. Right outta the park boyz! That's the sound we got hooked on and it pays homage to the biggest era of rock guitar!
Very nice to see Jake back great guitar player, I seen him on the Ultimate Sin Tour, great for the young axe players to see this legendary guitar player back, just love Jake's guitar sound that is the mark of a great guitar player their own sound
Welcome back Jake, been too long,
Really dig it. It's a nice way of Jake bringing a bunch of his techniques into one song. I like the energy from the song.
Still a great song and killer riff I can never get enough of.
