No kidding. At least the Xbox One X version got a 4K patch.

When i bought this for PS5 i was blown away by how good the SX ran this game at a locked 30fps 4k native, still looks good on PS4 Pro code but the 1X was a beast for it's day.

RDR2 its just PS4 Pro version/graphics of the game.

Rockstar made a real piece of art with RDR2 that studio is showing to the industry that the will never do something like that.

I’m more of a Sony fan but this just makes me want to get Series X again just for it looking better on Series X. It looks different on KZread compared to your own TV. I’ve been on both sides to know which side looks better looking.

LOL. right now I exited RDR2/PC... all details were set to maximum, in 4k.. the difference between ps5/xbox/pc, is from heaven to earth. PC master all day.

I have this on PS5 and SeriesX, it definitely looks a lot better on SeriesX. You can really notice it with the trees and foliage, well pretty much everywhere

It's not 1440p bruh it's checkerboard 4k and it's quiet wierd implementation as it is locked at 1920 x 2160p , it upscales along only one axis, reason it looks so blurry on bigger 4k displays, in ps4/PS4 pro/ps5, it plays best in 1080p , looks sharp enough and definitely more stable fps than xbox version

You can get a pc and play in 60 fps

Ps5 doesn't qualify to be referred to as 1440p. In real world terms, it looks worse than a native 1080p visual quality.

No it doesn't, since a few months ago they added real Native 1440p. It's not upscaled anymore we actually have 1440p now. I'm currently testing the quality difference of upscaled 2160p VS native 1440p. 1440p now looks way better then 1080p. Only thing we need is a 60fps update on PS5 that will be so good for the game.

​@@Slimebal_7They fixed something related to the upscaling, but the resolution wasn't fixed, the pixels are not well synchronized, I think It's 1920x2160, I've played games at native 4k and I can tell you this game looks bad on a big 4k display, the PS4 reproduces a better image in a 1080p display

that was for the rdr1 port, everyone complained about how they rereleased that game without implementing a proper 60fps mode for new gen consoles since the game is 10+ years old

@Greymatter-to3th the update mostly affected the pc version, they got hdr10 and fsr 2.2 support, other than that the update was just bug fixes unfortunately

it's frustrating that the PS5 version feels noticeably worse compared to the PS4 PRO. I personally noticed that it runs much smoother on the XBX.

Realistically both consoles should be running the game at 4k native with 60fps but rockstar doesn’t want to put an update so this is honestly just comparing last gen’s consoles settings

Bro just get a PC. I went from PS2, to Xbox 360, then to PS4 Pro and now on Series X. Tbh these modern day consoles are underwhelming as heck. Very disappointing. Can't even do 4K at 60 fps without compromises, its a joke. I'm saving for a PC.

Idk what this comparison is for because there was never a next gen update for these games so your running the old gen versions which is why the ps5 is a lower quality then xbox. The xbox 1 x was better then the ps4 and the ps4 pro in terms of graphics but the ps5 and series x. Basically the same

The reason is that Xbox Series X version is based on previous Xbox One X version which runs on Native 4K resolution. On the other hand, PS5 version is based on previous PS4 Pro version which runs that game in 1440p resolution. It is sad!!

I don’t know where do you get that the PlayStation version runs at 1440p which is wrong, the game was covered and then confirmed to run at 1920x2160p with checkerboard rendering to 3840x2160p hence why the PlayStation version looks blurry in comparison to the Xbox version.

@@Bad_Company225 in real life comparison it is blurry next to the Xbox one x version, the Xbox version looks noticeably cleaner and with more detail because it’s running in native 4k (3840x2160p) whereas the PS pro version runs at 1920x2160p with checkerboard rendering to achieve an upscaled (if you will) 4k resolution, which leads to a blurry image in comparison to the Xbox one x version.

Console games have a fixed resolution. On ps4 it is 1920x1080p. So on PS5 it runs as 1920x2160p. The game has not received any update, so the 1440p description is misleading to the viewer. PS5 1920x2160p XSX 3840x2160p
