have been alive long enough to have witnessed the evolution arc of gaming, from pong and atari 2600 to modern games and everything in between. i have played thousands of games over the years and to me it is easily the best game ever made. it was the first and only game story that made this salty ol bugger cry over a character. it's like a movie that you get to play as the protagonist...

As someone who played the game 2yrs after release, avoiding all spoilers, reviews, etc like it didn't exist, I am So annoyed with myself that I never streamed and uploaded my playthrough. This game RUINED open world gaming for me cos it's So Damn Friggin Good and Immersive. I've completed the game 6x already but my 2nd playthrough, after knowing the outcome, I stayed in Valentine damn near indefinitely and leaving Micah locked up, exploring with Arthur. I still throw the game on every now and again to do a spot of hunting, fishing, exploring, drinking in the taverns and return to camp just because it feels like I'm Really there doing it myself. The fact Rockstar Never released any updates or dlcs to this masterpiece is criminal. Best Game Ever Made!

@elmo3114 ok do a mission and try to get to the destination before the npc your suppose to follow oh wait you can't cause it'll be game over. Try to do any mission in the game any other way then your told oh wait you can't. That is linear progression not open world progression even older Rockstar games you could do this with most missions. They didn't hold your hand and say come here baby your to stupid to know anything so take my hand. The random encounters are not completely random. Like bro Rockstar lied to you and you ate it up like a fat kid loves cake. Not mention all the half assed game mechanics that look like they were suppose to be a way bigger part of the game but then Rockstar was like nah that's good enough. Oh and the advertising point they focused on building your camp donating money having it make a difference but the camp literally means nothing you don't even really have to interact with the camp to beat the game. Then to top it all off they completely abandoned the game and told everyone who bought it f**k you your not important. Bro if you still support Rockstar your a sell out plain and simple.

@elmo3114 open world in gaming means more then just the map you play on. even then there are places you can't go that look like they were planned to be a part of the map unless you glitch the game. They completely left out Mexico!!!!! When they already had a game with it in they could of used to do 70 percent of the work for them. I'm sry guy but Rockstar is no longer Rockstar.

Honestly couldn't agree more. I couldn't give 2 shits about online mode. For GTA or Red dead. But that's what they've chosen to focus on for both games because...money. It sucks to have such a perfect game get no extra love or expansion. We can probably expect the same for GTA 6.

wrong, they didn't add shit for the rdr2 online mode it hasn't gotten an actual update in years. all do they i add a few discounts or make the beans free for a limited time and once every few months they bring back old clothing that's it.

the real DLC have been mods/ and RP servers. they add so many things to do... for me it gave me reasons to keep playing the game longer. but I wish Rockstar would've gave us PROPER updates and content.

Why doesn’t Rockstar put the love into RDR2 that they do to boring old GTAV that is like a million years old but always have tons of content added? RDR2 is beautiful, I wish there was more to do in the sense of what Rockstar could be doing to it like they do to played out GTAV

@QuinnzeyQ89 another thing too is they've moved the development team of rdr2 to work on gta6. Since they are obviously the most skilled. And the reason why they keep gta5 online updates going is merely due to the simple fact that gta5 is a cash cow and it's better to leave a smaller development team on gta5 and make millions rather than have none and make very little money. Rdr2 wasn't profitable and take 2 interactive saw that. Rdr2 is the best rockstar game ever but the online simply didn't make enough money.

If rockstar does these things for RDO specifically it will be perfect •train robbery’s bank robbery’s and store robbery’s in free roam •private lobbies •make it easier to start out I’m starting out after completing the story and getting gold is impossible I think these will make the game so much better

The problem with both gta and rdr2 is,these games had so much content that dlc would have been awesome,but it is truly disappointing that we never got any for the story. I personally do not.car for playing online with rdr2 because too many people kill you for no reason,until they add private sessions like we have on gta5 online,I personally have no plans to return to rdr2.

It's honestly unacceptable that it doesn't have a 60fps update. Rockstar should be ashamed of themselves. I seen on IGN that a person moded a ps5 to run it at an unlocked 60fs so it would cost them nothing to to give us an update. All they have to do it unlock the framerate which is super simple.

I spent money on gold bars in red dead 2 a few times. Never even had the thought to do that for gta 5. Red dead is way better. I love the combat using older weapons. Especially the carcano. Sniping is fun and takes a little more skill than using lock on aim weapons

sadly i do not have access to mods (im on pc) because i do not know how to download them like the tutorials are hard to understand and theres alot of stuff i have to do for mods

You gotta play it longer. I noticed it a bit slow in the beginning too. I played RDR2 for the first time in 2022. I was DUMBFOUNDED I didn’t play it sooner, I became so attached, I found myself just wandering and enjoying the scenery with the occasional surprise interactions. Today: 289hrs logged. Their is SO MUCH TO FIND AND DO in the game it’s CRAZY. Easily best game ever made, by a long shot.

Honestly im so annoyed that Rockstar hasn't provided a next-gen update that im not even going to bother with the next grand theft auto. As a company they care nothing about their customers. The witcher 3 and cyberpunk got free next-gen updates because the company actually appreciates it's customers. Rockstar is the complete opposite which is sad because they make far more money than the other game companies. Im not going to support companies like that. Just my opinion.

They haven't released a next gen upgrade for red dead redemption 2 for the ps5 and even if they did they would most likely charge a $70 full price. Rockstar is a greedy company. Honestly, the customization for story mode is good and all, but looking at all the customization in Online, theres so much that can be done. How hard is it to add the online clothing options to Story Mode? One black banada and a few weird masks to wear are good and all, but theres so many in online. And last thing, the goddamn offhand holster. It sticks out like a sore thumb and just looks bad. I know they wanted to add dual wielding, and thats good too, but why not add the option to take it off? The game worked perfectly well in the beginning with one holster, and just looked so much cleaner without having your second revolver just sticking out to the front like that. Plus, no other npcs (that I know of) have it, so it kinda takes away from the imersion for me personally, but not by much. Thats just my personal opinion tho.

This game spoiled me for a long time. I Started w/ GTA 3 on PS2 back in 00.. then comes GTAV & It was truly amazing at the time. But soon they wanted GTAonline. I was pissed single players were screwed w/ no DLC. But then RDR2 came out! I loved RDR1 & love westerns so I am bias n' love our American " Wild West" lore. But RDR2 was like MATRIX level immersion.. this game is a MASTERPIECE even in 2024 I play STORY on my PS5 almost weekly, still discovering animal encounters etc. the vanilla graphics are still insane.. The Rockstar greed w/ SHARKCARDS etc.. destroyed the baseline of their games we use to love the single player component. Great Vid!

Yeah, I don’t get this video at all. An 11/10 game is disappointing because they didn’t improve on it? Most games ship being wayyyyyyy less complete, and so they rely on updates and expansions for people to feel they got their money’s worth. Meanwhile, Rockstar took their time and made the most detailed open world game ever, with a huge map, tons or content, and a long-ass main story, and somehow it’s not enough for some people? People complaining just to complain, IMO.

a good thing about gta online is they've been slowly fixing things and listening to people with each new dlc they maybe small but there not that bad

Hopefully the work environment at rockstar isn't too toxic, because if so, that means the employees who really do care about the game and the fans, aren't going to be brave enough to put forward suggestions for groundbreaking ideas that will help the company. It's in the companies, and the investors best interest that they listen to the fans. And most certainly mine, since I've got money riding on take two..

Litteraly playing my second and a half play through. Legit have a chapter 2 Arthur and an epilogue John. I just explored all of new austin and was very disappointed. Was dead and was a clear example of wasted potential

The fact that Rockstar hasn’t even done the bare minimum by giving RDR2 a next gen update boils my blood. Also no story DLC is disappointing. They could’ve done so much. Whether it was Undead nightmare 2, the Blackwater massacre, Sadie and/or Charles after the epilogue or between 1899 and 1907 or playing from their perspective in chapter 5 as they were keeping the gang together. I mean they had SO much to work with. It sucks.

Good thing i bought it in 2024 lol got it on sale to for 20 bucks and already at 42 percent story mode done but iam sadly playing with an gtx 1050 ti on this game but i dont really care about graphics i care about animations, story, dialogue, and the freedom in the game.

The only thing that's disappointing with rdr2 is the total lack of content added to story mode. It's sad to see such a masterpiece abandoned and basically tossed away. 😢

Yeah all it needs is a full 4k 60fps update to be a perfect open world game. The only reason I refuse to play it in 2024 is because it's 30fps. I'm use to 60fps on my ps5 so 30fps feels horrible now.

It is my fave game of all time. It’s just disappointing that RS deliberately abandoned this masterpiece. It could have been better if they added more contents in story mode. Like 60fps, way to finally go back to Guarma, more outfits and guns, additional beard, haircuts, side quests particularly in prologue, quality of life and more secrets to uncover… its just a shame.

So it seems most of your complaints were for the lack of updates, expansion and the online... Nothing from the base game itself for which I'm glad. I just recently started playing this game and it's already my favourite. But i clearly understand the pain of long time players. Also Undead Nightmare would have been great, sad it never occurred. Rockstar games did make many greedy decisions over the past years with gta online but never have any of their single player titles failed to deliver. So I have compete trust in gta 6. However, the online part and what comes next with updates, only time will tell whether or not they learnt to listen to their fans or not.

One of the most important thing is on xbox series x/s the game look same as the OLD GEN on series s basicly unplayable because theres no opmizition

5:02 "expanding the story mode that most players would care about" - nah bro. It turns out, that players care about those GTAV online pixels more than story modes. R* could spend millions to develop some story expansion, just for people to one-off buying it for $30 VS they can spend couple days of dev time to release some stupid pixel plane and people will spend the same. Players are voting with their wallets.

If a modding community is already making great added content, all an update is going to do for you is break your mods... like Skyrim every few months for no real reason

I have always wondered why they can't take their milk money and even use a bit of it to create single player dlc. They have the money and the ability to do so. Keep saying it bc not enough KZread voices do. However, I don't think T2 or rockstar care anyway.

if they want my money so bad i swear i would prefer to pay a 80$ dlc that expend the story mode of rdr2 than spending money to get useless things in gta online ( i have a yatch on gta online so i played a bit.. 😅)

Finally trying it out on PC, controls are kinda... clunky, not entirely sure how much I should care since they're going for like super realistic animations, but it's annoying. Melee combat in particular, why do these kinds of games even bother with this crap, they can NEVER do it right. And the menu UI though, godawful. My god it's bad and looks bad.

RDR2 is the kid who looks like they doing well, so nobody’s actually checks on them. Yes, they are doing okay, but it’s always better to have a friend.

Why would they expand an old game instead working on a new one? This game is done. It's completed and actually has an incredible long story already. The content is amazing. I don't want them to waste time on this, maybe they work on RDR3 already.

Ask that question concerning their continuous updates on Gta V.

There are no expansions and no hope that rdr1 will be ported to PC. Such a shame! But in my opinion it's not the game that's disappointing, it's the developers!

Still waiting for the 60 fps patch. I cant play 30 fps

combat and movement is so clunky, wanted/bounty system is garbage, some missions are absolutely miserable to get through (deliver letter for Beau, the mayor's party etc, all Mary missions ) but the story is so good it JUST makes up for it. Rock* need a serious rework for their combat system though

Rockstar is the worst best dev out there. The amount of IP’s and content they’ve tossed into the garbage or let collect dust over the years that any other dev would kill to have is staggering. The rumored Bully sequel, cancelled. The rumored medieval open world game (can you even imagine a Rockstar made game like this), gone. LA Noire, trashed. Story expansions for their biggest titles, too much work. Remasters of beloved IP’s, outsource it to the lowest bidder with predictable results. Despite saying ‘we’re going to stand out from the crowd with how we handle our remasters’ just a couple years ago, we got the disaster that was GTA Trilogy and then they couldn’t even be half assed more than the absolute bare minimum on Red Dead 1, making only a 30 fps port for PS4 3 years into the PS5’s release (it took them an extra month just to make it 60 fps which sounds even stupider saying it out loud) because XBox can ‘technically play the 360 version’ and no PC release despite it never being released there. No changes. Nothing. Still couldn’t be assed to bring it to even just all platforms. GTA 4 remaster, or even just a port, cancelled (that game looks so bad it’s near unplayable on XBox and it’s not on PS5, so is slowly being lost to the dustbin of history). We’re getting Max Payne remakes only because Remedy is making them, and even with Max Payne 3 they infamously begrudgingly made it because fans asked for it and then were pissed and tossed it in the trash when it didn’t sell to the high bar they demanded. It is so frustrating and I can see why founder Dan Houser and others left the company shortly before GTA 6 was finally given a trailer. Remember when the founders of Rocksteady left to do their own thing right before Suicide Squad was shown off for the first time? This doesn’t give me a good feeling. Given how much of a cash cow online is I garauntee GTA 6 Online was where the budget went and the campaign will be another afterthought that will be discarded immediately after launch with no support. It really is infuriating. Lol. And we’ll get nothing else from them for another 20 years. Absolute garbage company that just happens to make excellent games. The worst part is that the GTA 6 trailer came out and despite all the above and more, they were forgiven immediately. This is why they’ll learn nothing. I kind of almost hope 6 bombs so they learn a little humility lol.

Well said brother. I completely agree here. I’ve always had these feelings too. They are a garbage company now. I won’t buy GTA6. I’m getting much older now, I’m a year away from 40 and I’m deciding to hang up gaming for good. But I wanted so badly to see what they would do with a complete package of an RDR1 and 2 with RDR2’s graphics. So many people felt this was the most logical choice to combine both games. And I thought they would…nothing happened. I was done. I was done with Rockstar when they stopped making content for Red Dead Online and abandoned it for GTAV’s constant updates. This company only cares about money. Not the fans, not their own games, the gamers, nothing, they care only for profits. I’m just done wasting my money on this anymore. But I agree with you on everything you said

It's sad but it has happened to Blizzard and Square. These companies made some of the greatest games ever and that attracts awful corporate interest that eventually corrupts the soul of the company.

hopnestly yeah gta 5 online has shitty updates every week is another shitty week they try to give you the bunk cars instead of pricey cars i just want to play gta 6 already and a rdr2 update after gta 6 would be hella sick
