Red Copper/Copper Chef Pans Review

Today I'm reviewing two pans that are new and really popular. Both pans are advertised with infomercials. The Red Copper pan is more of a skillet or frying pan. It measures about 10". The other is made by Copper Chef and is kind of a mix of skillet/sauce/casserole pans. It comes with a glass lid and other accessories. Both copper pans are oven/broiler safe and are non-stick. Hopefully, the video will help you decide whether you want to purchase the Red Copper or Copper Chef pan for your kitchen. Thanks for watching!

    I have the copper chef xl and cook over an induction plate and glass top stove. Also use in oven. It is non stick (so far), and I love how easy it is to clean.

    I bought one from Mainstay, only used it twice, it seems very nice, but the label said something about not cooking too acidic foods as it would make the coating come off in your food, something like that, I'll have to read it again. But you shouldn't limit your fat and your fat should be real butter and lots of it. This is the newest fact health wise, well not new, they told us to stay away from animal fat, but that was a lie and now people are getting super sick from eating nothing but carbs, which are just sugar and staying away from essential fat, butter and meat, which has most of the nutrients that humans need. So anybody that says don't eat fat is misinformed and possibly malnourished. The body runs on two fuel sources only, sugar and fat, eating fat will make you lose weight and eating sugar will make you gain weight and causes cancer and mental illness.

    This is they type of lady that the world takes for granted: She is a whole lot smarter and sharper than the world gives women like that credit for. And her husband, Paul, is no doubt a sharp guy. This video is absolutely worth watching. I'm sure this woman and Paul are worth meeting.

    I have copper chef round pan. I like it very much. Have used it often and have had it for several months. However it is not non stick as they say. Once cool he food comes off easily but if hot it sticks. It doesn't slide off as it does in the informercial said. I also don't used anything sharp in them other than my plastic utensils

    Did you "season" it first? My pan had instructions to wipe it down with oil and bake it in the oven for 20 minutes first. I don't remember at what temperature, though.

    Hello, I did a lot of research between Red Copper and Gotham Steel and Copper Chef. None of them are really scratch resistant. The two that seemed to do as the infomercial said were Red Copper and Gotham Steel. When I put mine to the test...after I oiled them and put them in the oven on 300 for 20 mins....I put the raw egg in and let it cook, I did not try to play with it or move it around, I let it cook until the heat lifted it with a type of bubble action off of the pan itself, then I was able to flip it with out using any utensils. I cooked cheese in my pan to the point it was mostly liquid and it slid right out of the pan. I wanted to compare the review I had watched and I often saw people put their raw egg in the pan to give it the test....after a few seconds in the pan, the reviewers started moving the egg around and that is where is started sticking. The food has to sit there and lift itself off of the pan for it to flip easily or for things to slide right out. I tried to cook some raw chicken breast in the pan and it did not slide around easily and although it cleaned up easily, it did not "not" stick. Some of the things tried were cooking BBQ ribs in the pan....that did stick, I think I had my heat to high, and did not wash off easily. I found when I re heated the pan, everything wiped clean with a paper towel. I appreciate seeing this review, as I just bought the entire set and wanted to see what other reviews I maybe missed lol! Thank you!!!

    My glass lid just broke. Kept it under running water after boiling eggs and it all cracked off. I just switched to Red Copper Pan set recently. I guess they know people will always make that mistake and purchase another lid. Money making for them.

    Why did you use vinegar to clean the pan? Can you use regular dishwashing liquid? Can you use spray oil?

  • @HomesteadingWays

    @HomesteadingWays

    I use vinegar sometimes just because it's good for cutting grease. Yes, you can use dishwashing liquid and cooking spray. I don't really think you'll need the spray, though.

    I just purchased the XL Copper Chef off of QVC and will get it in the mail soon... Of the 2 pans you reviewed, would you say one is more non stick than the other or about the same? Thanks for reviewing both pans!

    One thing I forgot to mention in the video, is that you have to "season" the frying pan. Wipe it with oil and bake in the oven for 20 minutes. I think that may actually aid in the pan being more nonstick.

    You don't have to add oil to the red copper (round) pan, but I still do sometimes for flavor. The Copper chef pan isn't as non-stick and I think you should add oil if you're not baking or using a sauce.

    I hate the red copper. I have 3. Do not cook sausage in them. I used light oil to keep it from sticking after I ruined the first pan and turned it every minute or so while on low heat. didn't matter. pan is still black and won't come clean. Even boiled dawn water in it.
