Well said. Massive respect…. I am a sporty, slightly beat up, 57 yr old. I ride a Honda Africa Twin, Ktm exc520, and a Ninja 900. since I’ve been watching your vlogs I have dusted off my old Moto-Cross bike, changed the fluids and am heading back to the track. Gonna brush up my skills and I am seriously considering doing a rally. I had never heard of a rally support team. A real game changer. Thanks so much for all this info.

Thanks Daniel. I think it was the most women they've had this year. 6 women! Sandra Gomez in Gold 💪🏼💪🏼 and then 3 in Iron and two in Atom if I recall right. Something like that.

Great video, great race, great result. I love that more women are racing. I think that women can and will compete with the men, but it might take a while to recruit the right women. Very impressive.

I lay down in the mountain streams when I get overheated. If I'm just a bit hot I just wet my jersey in them. Idaho is super dry but there are no shortages of mountain streams. I fill my CamelBak up straight out of them and have a filter in line. One time I lost my filter and just drank straight from the stream and was completely fine. My longest day was 110 miles of pure single track.

I'm a little surprised that you two couldn't ride together. Great vid, shame they don't allow vids of the event. Also, great to see Patsy actually present---so many teams in motorsport use the founders name, but they are never to be seen or heard of! Years ago I did a one day Desert Rose beginner class on of course KTM690 R??. It was very well run, and of course I did not expect her to be present at a beginner school, but it would have been a bonus to meet the legend. A similar name Craig Bounds (in Wales) is Black Desert Racing? He is totally awesome, you should check him out, if you don't already know him? (A charming partner /wife too Tamsin, who was the first Romaniacs lady finisher, I think she killed Dakar too).I suspect you do know him. So, the big huge enormous question is you two....which year are you doing Dakar? hehe

hi Chris I would say our cost was around £4k each, that included race entry, accommodation, food, taxis, flights, transport of bikes, race support, a BIG volume of spares that we didn't need but could have. Tyres I explain in the video but it was a dry week so lighter on wear with one front each and two rears. Only two sets of rear pads too. I'm confident the gold guys used a new set a day though so knowing your riding helps

Your worried about completing the Red Bull race, but I cant imagine anyone else more qualified.... Well Done. What would you say was the total cost of the experience for both of you given you already own the bikes? Especially the costs of the support crew? X Cheers

Oh gosh. That's a big question. I'd focus on light weight as it's more manageable and helps confidence, and then not too big. A 250 four stoke could be a nice option but it's not going to love loads of road time but will handle it. There's really so many options. I tend to sway to ktm and husky for the reliability and the availability of parts. Hope that helps. Let me know what you go for

You are no joke. I'm your age and you have better endurance and skill than I do that's for sure and I don't have any past injuries. I have some arthritis is my wrists from turning wrenches on fighter jets for 15 years but that is it, nothing to make excuses for. I just got into riding 2 years ago. In that time I got 500 hours of riding the insane trails we have in Idaho and watched tons of training videos from Jarvis and others and practiced them religously.

@@TheGirlOnABike I watched a video of romantics fails and quite a few people biffed it on that finish line. That thing wood thing was way scarier than the angle you posted. Holly crap I'd be scared. It kind of reminds me of my favorite single track where it is so off camber you just have to go kinda fast or you would slide off The trail straight down to the creek 200 feet below and be totally screwed. I love and hate that section. It is shaped just like that but the trail is only about 14 inches wide. Maybe slightly less off camber but a huge adrenaline spike.

It irritates me so badly to see how so many companies threaten to sue you at the drop of a hat. I called a company once (in the trucking industry) who specializes in teaching safe driving techniques for truck drivers, because I believe that many of the things that they teach are very useful in the motorcycle world as well. I even used to be a certified trainer in this particular company's methods. When I called and asked them if they'd be interested in working with me to create a slightly modified version of their curriculum for motorcycling, I was told swiftly and firmly - before I could even respond - that not only would they not put any effort into anything, but that if they found out that I had used any of their curriculum in any way or even SAID THEIR NAME publicly, that they would "pursue me through any and all legal channels available". So they threatened to sue me when all I did was ASK if they'd like to collaborate on something! I felt that same anger come up when I found out that Vanessa had been threatened by Red Bull. What a bunch of dips***s. They have a great opportunity to have high-quality content produced about their event, that they can reap benefit from, with NO WORK ON THEIR PART, and they instead threaten legal action. I hate lawyers.
