The No. 1 Squadron CO he speaks about crashing off HMS Invincible is Mark Leakey. He was my family's next door neighbor in MacDill AFB, Florida, where Leakey was on an exchange assignment in one of the F16 squadrons.

I really hope they come back to South Africa! Would love to see them live! They also spent time at Hoedspruit in the Limpopo province with the SAAF Silver Falcons. Most likely part of the Durban tour.

When deployed to the Invicible for Iraq, was he married? Was he picked because he was single? Type of thing that happens in green.

I was single but the RAF never took that into account when making postings. There was a mix of married and single personnel on board.
