The mission shows just how nasty Prism Tanks are to defend against. Having access to Siege Choppers here is a godsend since you can use them along with Desolator zones to keep them back. Kirov force attacks only help in the spots they Chrono in or you 100% know they will move through. Everything else is Apocs and Battle Bunker while rebuilding anything the Lightning Storm claims.

You can save your whole base in this mission. There are 4 major enemy spawn locations. The transport to the right can easily be beaten with seating Tesla troopers. The bottom left prism + GIs can be beaten using your starting apocs and I deployed desos. The 3 mirages on the left can be killed by walling in deployed desos where your sentries used to be. Then just build some flak cannons by your refinery and spam Siege choppers for the top side. If you aren’t confident about the bottoms left prisms, 2 kirovs right on the corner will catch them 90% of the time

Good suggestions. Had I played the mission a few more times I would definitely figure out some better strategies. I was still experimenting in some parts.

This seems like a mission for siege choppers. At least on paper I'd think they could catch weaker waves when flying and also serve as a good defense when deployed.

They outrange everything bar Prisms, which flying they cant be attacked by and Apocs have the damage resistance and attack strength to withstand while also getting promoted rather quickly wasting them, Mirages and Rhinos. As I said in my comment: The real threat are the Prisms.

Ah yes, the Soviet Rave in Mayan Ruins. 0:50 In that case im looking forward to next 3 levels. This will be fun. 1:50 I actually enjoyed this small addition. It felt similar to A04 in this modpack. 3:20 In all honesty, i expected to lose after one of them got destroyed, thankfully it was not a case. Wow, your base is being reduced to atoms quite fast. I dont recall it being that brutal. Although i decided to rely on Siege Choppers more in this mission - There is probably a corelation to something, but i dont know where :P

Wow, that mission is just insane... the Allies don't bother with infiltration missions any more. They're even bringing in their weather control device! Hopefully those prism towers were worth it... although I do like how the map maker did put a base in... so far away from the actual battle. 11:40 As expected. It can reach across the whole map rather than be a rapid fire tower in a local area... Also, I wonder how a flipped version of Black Forest would go considering how it was already flipped in Yuri's Revenge and the Allies got hardware from that game as well... do you get Soviet AI comrades helping out this time instead of having to do all 3 assaults yourself?

Adinionally. You can place your tesla troopers closer to the beach and they will destroy the allied transport before it reaches land. Also flaktroopers are still the best option, you could have place then closer to the shore and stopped the rocketeers early. Also 4 desolators in the corner of the map, with the other ore field. You may need to replace them later because the prisma tanks can attack outside the map (they will still recieve damage) but they're still a great option. Also Siege choppers are very usefull if you dont feel safe with the apocalipse tanks

For some reason there's a monkey hidden on the very top left of the Allied base, if you click on it, the prism tower kills it and completely bypasses the objective of infiltrating the battle lab.

this still seemed much easier than previous ones..

Tnis mission is quite nasty if you don't know what to do

Fun mission

When I start the mission, the fog of war covers the dogs at teh top of the hill...

You know, this makes me wonder how things would've panned out if the Soviets canonically won here, and kept the Mayan prism pyramids. I'm getting some alt-history vibes from this, and I sort of wish there was a mod that touches upon alternative scenarios, such as this one :). I'd play these flipped missions if only RA2 and YR would work on my end, reason why these series are a blessing. Can't wait for the next one.

If it's because of New versions of windows you can install any old games (nearly) on an XP vm. 3d games won't play as good though.

Then i recommend the "Mental Omega" Mod to you. The story has been reworked and heavily improved; and many mire things done to it. Main campaign alone has Over 80 missions. A Yuri campaign included👌

You can say that Siege Choppers actually are good in the role of lifting siege.

For this mission, maybe set all units to Guard mode with G or Alt+Ctrl+LMB?

I've always wondered what's the point of prism technology when you have tesla technology? I mean maybe prism tanks, but why not improve tesla tanks instead?

@@johndexterzarate6663 maybe, tesla tech wouldn't work in space I guess. But that wouldn't work with Canon since canonically they lost the research center before the technology worked.

12.07 engi defuses a G.I Also Weather storm so early is not lore friendly, why not end mission after you get op prism that apparently Einstein was to dumb to make but soviets werent, and lets not deploy a literal surgical nuke... takes too long. Im getting ra3 vibe here.
