ADAM Audio was founded in March 1999 in Berlin. Since then the company has been developing, manufacturing and distributing loudspeakers in the field of Professional Audio.
The development of the X-ART (eXtended Accelerating Ribbon Technology) tweeter based on the 1960’s invention of the Air Motion Transformer by Oskar Heil was largely responsible for the company’s founding. Producing sound not with a piston-like diaphragm as is done in most of the loudspeakers that are on the market, but using a pleated diaphragm that is capable of moving the air 4 times faster than the folds themselves are moving was the appealing idea behind it all. The achieved results were intriguing and gave ample reason for moving forward.

I listened to these clips and here's what I liked in order: 1. SE 2200 with blankets 2. SM7B open 3. Soyuz with blankets It's hard to really compare without proper gains staging and volume matching, but for a home studio I think it's a decent test. I was shocked to see just how much low end was added to the reflection filter.

Hi Ibrahim! Gain is the "technical volume" so to say. That means the volume before going in the effect chain. Some analog gear or emulation of analog gear need a certain input to work. Thus, you need to make sure that the technical volume before the effect chain is correct and also the artistic volume at the end. All the best, Daniel.

@@fightsandfinance7570 It's absolutely worth it. But here's got a problem for you since the SM7B is a well known microphone with very low signal, which means if you're using this mic, you'd better need a mic pre-amp for it. But your phone's not capable of giving phantom power to the mic pre-amp to work. So...it's not a good choice for your phone.

This set up is confirmed to work with an adapter to a smartphone. 1. SE 2200 2. Soyuz Bombet 3. SM7b All w/ blankets. The isolation makes a huge difference! Pisses me off that the reflection filters can cost near $300+ dollars and not be as good as my PVC/blankets setup. The SM7b is the "hot mic" right now but it's just not for me. It's like beats for microphones for me. No shade to those that love them. Just not my cup of tea.

You should always cut off the monitors if you are doing vocals in the same room. You really want to capture only the vocals and no outside sounds.

Sir, I am beginning. I want to record my written poetry professionally. In which my line will go in high tone and will also come in low tone. Tell me such mic and audio interface. So that I can record and mix later. But my room is not sound proof. My total budget is $300. A shopkeeper told me that you cannot do recording with dynamic mic. Please tell me what should I do. Which mic and audio interface should I buy? After buying which I do not regret.

@@ADAMAudioBerlin i think that's more a byproduct of him getting closer to the mic due to the limited space in the ad hoc blanket-booth, resulting in not only more proximity effect but a higher de facto signal-to-noise ratio

I didn't like the SM7B UNTIL it went into the makeshift booth. Then it sounded great. Unfiltered i liked the SE2200 but when you started adding acoustic treatments it started to sound a bit sibilant. I didn't like that expensive mic at all...

Please correct me if I’m wrong, but aren’t we hearing a crap ton of proximity effect on all the mics recorded in the blankets? Was he closer to the mics due to the nature of the “booth”? BTW, SM7b Open.

Hi Jacky! The middle of the room will be best, as it will reduce the reflections off the walls that would be next to you in a corner. Good question 👍

  • @ADAMAudioBerlin

Certainly worth a shot and would be substantially better than without them. We'd suggest going with as thick and heavy of blankets as you can find to try and isolate the microphone as much as possible. Would love to know how it works out if you give it a try!
