Over the course of a day, Russia's total losses in Ukraine became an absolute record - Ukrainian soldiers managed to defeat 1,740 opponents.
As of May 13, the enemy had lost 484,030 invaders, the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported on Telegram. In addition, 31 occupier tanks, 42 armored combat vehicles, 15 artillery systems, 4 multiple launch rocket systems, 26 operational-tactical drones, 3 cruise missiles, 59 units of automotive equipment and tank trucks and 6 units of special equipment were destroyed.
Advisor to the mayor of the still occupied Mariupol, Pyotr Andryushchenko, wrote in his messenger: “1,740 good Russians per day. An absolute record”. But Ukraine’s military chief Oleksandr Syrskii said his forces were facing a “difficult situation” in the northeastern Kharkiv region, where thousands more people have fled their homes amid an advance by Russian forces.
Ukraine’s General Staff said fighting was raging around Vovchansk, a town about 4km from the border and 45km from Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-biggest city and the capital of the Kharkiv region. The Ukrainian military said Russia had deployed “significant forces for its attack on the town” but “taking no account of their own losses”, with at least 100 soldiers reported dead. In recent days, Vovchansk has become a key target of Russia’s new offensive, as Russia launched an attempt on May 10 to break through in Kharkiv Oblast.
The General Staff said it is mounting a defensive operation to halt Russian advances that have breached Ukraine's defenses. Additional reserves are being deployed to the area in order to "stabilize the situation."
"Our defenders are conducting defensive operations, inflicting fire damage on the enemy, widely using unmanned systems for reconnaissance and pinpoint strikes to inflict maximum losses." Vovchansk was previously liberated from Russian occupation during Ukraine’s lightning counteroffensive in September 2022.

The Russian plan was if they can secure the peace and hold onto what they already have taken , Russians would be allowed to come in and take the land and anything else they want as their own . Any non separatist Ukrainians would be either driven out or eliminated . This is why many Russian were all for the invasion because of the promise of free land etc. The Russian people did not figure on Ukraine putting up such a great fight and it's not working out as easy as they initially thought . Many Russian citizens have already entered Crimea and stolen land and homes . Russia wants the agricultural production of Ukrainian soil and the better weather and the oil and gas fields in Ukraine and around Crimea . Plus full Naval control of the Northern Black sea , Azov sea and the Naval bases at Sevastopol . Problem for Russia is it's very unlikely that Russia can take all of Ukraine so even if the do hold Luhansk , Donbas and Crimea they will never have peace or security . Plan A failed so they went to plan B but plan B could only succeed if it was plan A to start with . Russia has lost so many men and huge amounts of equipment it may struggle to hold what they have already taken over the next few years because Ukraine will keep sabotaging , keep attacking and any benefit will be lost . This war was also part of China's master plan and Russia was supposed to take all of Ukraine and be able to feed and supply China in it's war of domination but it's not looking that good right now .

@@chekeocha4923 there only 150 new tanks made a month in Russia and most of the tanks have been taken from storage but Russia did have 10,000 at the start now estimates are in the 2500 to 5000 but a lot of those aren't running or driving. So Russia will run out only a matter of time.

@sergiytokio7295 The ruzzians were losing 📉 some 1200-1400 cargo 200/day for a while at Bachmut and Avdiivka. Also during a couple of days during the little known, disastrous ruzzian 'winter offensives' in February 2023, at Vuhledar, 2 disastrous battles, with a very large amount of tanks destroyed and a very high cargo 200 number. The ruzzian unit that was wiped out at Vuhledar, was the same unit, from Vladivostok, that had been wiped out in November 2022.
