All of you instructions went seamlessly until the end. The OBS is not showing the youtube video I want to capture but rather the OBS studio in the window. Help!
This is a cool tutorial but, I actually found that OBS now does this naturally. I'm not sure when it changed but I fired it up to record a class meeting and it recorded sound just fine without changing anything.

Yup, OBS is great for this! I've done tutorials on it. But some people have an issue with OBS's learning curve.

Do you think this software has any advantages over the Blackhole program you previously did an instructional video on?

I find it a bit more transparent and flexible. It also comes with little control-panel-type application.
It’s 2024, and apple still hasn’t made this standard on macos, like how it is on iOS! I should be able to just open QuickTime, choose a ‘record screen’ option, and then ‘choose internal audio’, ‘internal microphone’ or, if connected, ‘external microphone’, instead of having to install 3rd party software just to get internal audio
