I see many people have urged you to wear gloves but I would take it a step further and say I wish you would use a rake so you wouldn't get stuck by a hypodermic needle someone used to shoot up some dangerous drug. I look forward to seeing you unblock other drains in the future so I am a new subscriber from Nashville.

During storms my Mom would put me in rain gear and send me to the street corner to sweep away the fallen leaves from the drain. Our basement would flood if the water came over the sidewalk. Must clear the sewer drain to save my toys. Massive satisfaction when the water would swirl away. I used a corn broom....never bare hands.

you need a rake or something. scary to use your bare hands.

Wellington boots and a metal hook stick would be best. So much broken glass and infections around..

This random kindness to the community makes all the difference.

It's amazing how such a small amount of debris can cause a big problem and danger to vehicles.

Please use proper PPE, as you don't know what chemicals and bacteria are in that water and your hands may get harmed by the suction of the drain. The safest thing to do is to wear gloves, wellington boots and to use a tool such as a rake.

Also pls consider your own safety because you never know what floats down here lol. Some good gloves for your hands so you don’t get cut on a rusty grate or Needle stuck in the debris
