The History Channels hardly has anything to do with history anymore and doesn't seem to pay any experts in any meaningful sense of the word. NatGeo is still OK, but History started out as very shallow and turned out a lot worse about ten years ago. Stopped watching it completely back then.

I'm still taking my time to study it more deeply, but from the initial impressions I've had from studying Spanish history, it seems like they were years, even centuries, ahead in intellectual discussions, such as in philosophy with João de São Tomás. Thank you for this video, you're a hero for making content on Spanish history, a subject that, it seems, is being deleted and Spanish merits are very much forgotten.

@@takshashila2995 ya but Khanacademy isnt really "free" it runs off donations and volunteers not donating means it will eventually cease to exists so whether you donate monthly or pay subscription or volunteer your time your still paying somehow nothing is "free" and for every flashpoint out in wild world of youtube there many more that dont bother to research and make massive over generalizations without the required nuance for history which means you need to be good enough to detect the fakes from the real ones which when you dont know much about the subject aint that easy to do. Bias's like conformation bias, or dunning krueger effect are rampant on youtube and one should be more careful to assume this is the best way to learn. Certainly is a great tool when used in combination with other tools it can be very effective but it certainly shouldn't be relied upon as your only source.

Congratulations, this is an amazing series! Very well narrated with a brilliantly executed graphism. Please keep it up!

I'm so happy that I've found your channel. You are a perfect narrator, teacher and educator. As a anthropologist I also love history. But sadly there are lots of kids and older people disregarding history as something boring and not important. You are a true fighter in this sense, you bring light to those kids and present them history in interesting, quite anthropological (!) and in fascinating way combining Total War game and comments that surely loosen the audience, even if I, as part of your educated but still curious audience don't like anachronism, but in your case I can finally see the point behind it: to make it more alive for those who just came to find it interesting. Damn you give me such an emotional response to history. I love it. Thank you. This is really what history is though, it isn't talking about old dead dudes, its telling a story. You can take a moral from the story, but regardless of anything, it was a mans life. It has the same functions as fiction, yet, is more impactful because we can look around us and see what they did, not just imagine it. Thank you for doing history justice :)

Spaniards actually used Aztecs and Incans in their wars with Muslims in Southeast Asia. Take for example the conqueror of Muslim Manila, Juan de Salcedo was born in Mexico and had a romance with Princess Kandarapa of Tondo who was Buddhist. There were also scores of Mexican-Mollucan hybrids who settled in the Sultanates of Ternate and Tidor while it was under Spanish occupation before they retreated to the Philippines... Hungary for example was invaded by the Ottomans and what was left of Hungary became "Royal Hungary" and was given to the Hapsburgs and they reconquered Hungary from the Ottomans. Tondo in the Philippines for example was reduced by th Bruneians but when To do allied under Spain, they reconquered their Philippine territories.

Siete partidas was also based on Justinian´s codex (Roman [byzantine era] Emperor), and both Alphonso X and Justinian are in the American house of representatives as great lawmakers. Impressive.

Great videos I enjoy watching them all but when u going to put out the last phase of the reconquista with isebella and Ferdinand I see u doing the fall Constantinople and those r dope to but don’t forget to finish this series out like Punic wars and all ur other series... ima big fan though keep these videos coming u have one of the top history channels on KZread if not the best

@@FlashPointHx I have seen some of their "Mongols" episodes which is also a good series but your version if you did it would definitely also be more than worth watching, the step by step order of events and how they all end up being connected as you repeat them in other related videos I find leave a long lasting impression. Your narration mixed with humour, philosophical quotes and figures is also different and has a feel like you are telling it like you were actually there. If not the Mongols what else..the Huns before them, Ottomans, entire history of ancient Egypt, Islamic conquest of Asia, Indian and Hindu civilization and its impact on the East, the Vikings, the Slave trade and African history? Well lots to think of I guess..

@@FlashPointHx I've seen the K&G Mongol series as well. I think it's a good idea for people from all over the world to do projects of the same subject so us learning can use each contrast to better help retain the info... among other reasons. If you do get into the Mongol era, I'd say not to borrow from K&G so your work would stand on it's own. I doubt it would be a conflict of interest since whoever watches one will watch the other. Everyone wins!
