I have some Dreamcast games I wanna talk about but, in all honesty, I can't find my freakin' dreamcast! Hopefully by next time, for sure.

Seeing Air Fortress mentioned in a video is awesome. It feels like it's been almost entirely forgotten in the retro world. However it was one of the few NES games I owned as a kid in the 80s and it's stuck in my head since.

came here to talk about air fortress after seeing it in the thumbnail.. such a great game that absolutely nobody talks about
Great video, John! Love the concept and always looking for games I've forgotten or missed.
You should do something just like this but within the same genre. Like an rpg you recommend on each console, platformer, fighter, etc
Love Mr Driller on GBC (admittedly I play this GBC cart on my GBA) … perfect little arcade vibe!
Really enjoying this series, hope you keep them coming!

well, I have 50 years of video games to choose from so I think I'll be good for a long, long while :)
Great list. I always find gems from your lists. Love the channel
NES - Clash at Demonhead Turbo Grafx 16 - Legend of Valkyrie SNES - Legend of the Mystical Ninja Genesis - Toejam & Earl N64 - Resident Evil 2 Playstation - Tenchu Stealth Assassins
I really appreciate this new series of videos, I always discover new games even for systems that I've been familiar with for a long time. I didn't knew about Wild Snakes, looks cool. I did know about Double Dragon for the Master System, but didn't think it was a necessary addition to my collection, now you convinced me
"Air Fortress" seems like a mash-up of "Dynowarz" and "Alien Syndrome." Pretty cool. 8-)
Really enjoying this series even though I'll most likely never play any of them. Thanks for the history lessons!
I like that there are a couple of games here that generally get passed over prematurely. Like I feel 80 percent of folks who dunk on the SMS double dragon never actually played it. Also Oink has really solid and innovative mechanics.

I played Double Dragon on Master system. The game is not smooth like the nes version. It's way better on the Nes. Way easier to punch, kick & actually beat the enemies up.
Found this channel through the algorithm and have already gone through a lot of your back catalog. Love the content, please keep it up! NES for Life!
Air Fortress is truly one of the best NES Games - thanks for shining some light on this beauty.
Loved Oink as a kid...forgot about this game. Thanks for the nostalgia John!
Another Fun Fact: GameLine was a dialup game distribution service for the Atari 2600, developed and operated by Control Video Corporation (CVC). Subscribers could install the proprietary modem and storage cartridge in their home game console, accessing the GameLine service to download games over a telephone line. GameLine had an exclusive selection of games, and its pioneering business model eventually gave rise to America Online. Despite being ahead of its time, it wasn't very popular, possibly due to its price of $60 for the hardware, $15 for the membership fee, and $1 per game, which you could only keep for a week.
This is a great subject idea. Up there with Open Cart Surgery. Love these.
air fortress is a hidden gem. i had it back then. have it today. it's great. u fly thru a relatively simple shmup level, then land, then go in a base similar to Section-Z or Metroid. u walk around, use a jetpack, find the core, take it out, then escape! then, the next level. very simple but takes practice. great music, too. very catchy. i just bought double dragon on master system a few months back and while it's graphically superior to the NES version, i found it not as fun. also problems with hit detection. anyway, good video, covers a lot of games newer/younger retro game collectors may not know about.
I have been a fan of yours for almost 10 years and I stumbled upon your stuff for emulation and it's always neat between you, the 8-bit guy, LGR and a handful of others like it's always great to come up with new stuff to look into and digging deep into the mass library. It is in retro gaming
Back in 1996 I had 2 PS1 consoles and the link cable so I got 2 copies of Assault Rigs and linked up for multi TV multiplayer madness. Did this with Doom too, good times

I like this series a lot. Keep cranking them out. Some really good choices here. I have and enjoy the majority of these.
I recommend Triangle Strategy for PC. Seems great so far. Very Final Fantasy Tactics like minus the Jobs.❤😊 Kind of that old RPG vibe. I am getting into Great Greed for Gameboy as well on my Epilogue GB Operator.
Fun Fact: WildSnake 🐍 was designed by Alexey Lysogorov and presented by Alexey Pajitnov. Game Gear and Sega Genesis versions were planned but never released.
Oink actually looks really fun, and I typically don't say that about Atari 2600-games. :)

it's super fun, better as a 2player
Great video as always John! Air Fortress is so good! Played it all the time at my friend’s house growing up.
A game I got at my cvs game bin long long ago was a “classic” called team buddies! So underrated and maybe because I was younger but it was an amazing game and seeing the prices for it, glad I played it back then and got the rom for it!
Oink is such a fun game. That and Frostbite are my favorite games for the 2600
@andrewlivingston1590

Frostbite is awesome!
Rockin’ that hatless Judge Doom look there, my friend! “Remember me, Eddie? When I killed your brother? I talked…just…LIKE…THIIIISSS!!!!!!”
This is a cool way for people who collect for multiple systems to get little bite size suggestions they may not have seen otherwise ❤
Thank you for including the Gameboy Color in its own category. Too many people bundle it together with the regular Gameboy.
I love Air Fortress. I got it for Christmas as a kid, still own a cart of that one!
My recommendation that works across a ton of consoles is Tetris. It came out for practically every console that could conceivably run the thing, even some push button cell phones could run it. These games in this video are quite good, I agree though I guess I misunderstood the title of the video as I thought you meant games that came out on many consoles. I may have to try Wild Snake for the SNES if I can find it. Looks fun. Good video!
I found out today that Oink could be a 2 player game and you could play as the wolf. Amazing lol
Sporting those glasses with that hair do is giving off big christopher loyd from roger rabbit vibes !!
Balloon Kid was actually released on the Famicom as well, albeit as a Hello Kitty tie-in game.
I too had no idea Blaster Master 2 even existed, or Air Fortress for that matter! Cobsidering Hal's close ties to Nintendo and Sunsoft's wish to spread awareness of their old games, I wonder if those two would be likely candidates for NSO... one can always hope.
Baloon Kid is an expansion of the Baloon Trip (game C) from Balloon Fight.
Welp, you got me this time: had no idea about Blaster Master 2! Looks great!!
I like this series of videos Mr Riggs. I collect for several systems and just look for whatever bargains I can find
Love your content... The hair.... The hair... You got that Beaker from the muppets vibe. 😂
I think Disney/Tron might want to have a talk with Assault Rigs over that tank design.. Lol
Oink is right before Porkys on my shelf 😂

Here's my 10 to check out, some pretty obscure but all can be played on emulators 1. TI-99 4/A - Bigfoot 2. Megadrive - Pulseman 3. NES - Xexyz 4. Coleco - Smurfs (don't laugh, Smurfs is great! 😉 5. MSX 2 - Space Manbow 6. Atari 7800 - Junkyard Dog 7. Arcade VS System - Excitebike (has extra bonus stages!) 8. Epoch Super Cassette Vision - Lupin III 9. Famicom Disk - Fire Bam (really difficult platformer in the style of Zelda 2 and Battle Of Olympus) 10. SMS - Lord Of The Sword (another game reminds me of that Zelda 2 style)
One day, John will get his flowers, and he will make a video named, "A LIST OF GAMES", and it will be, a list of random retro games. and it will be glouriouus
Wildsnake is a really interesting game to mention; I've seen it in Nintendo Power, but I don't think I've ever heard anyone talk about it before now.
Oink! Is a great call.
Thanks for letting us know what not to buy! Love your vids
I'd be hard up to recommend Blaster Master 2 to anyone, nowhere near as good a game as the NES original. Air Fortress is a total gem, phenomenal game. Balloon Kid is unbelievable, easily one of the best games on the Game Boy. Game has an amazing soundtrack, too.
I kept hearing Ian Ferguson rave about Fire Pro Wrestling on the Cupodcast. Really need to try it
10:05 that poster is never gonna give you up.
Those look like hidden gems. I knew none of those. Thanks.
This is a great new format. It's especially helpful as I recently got a Miyoo Mini Plus, so it gives me great suggestions I may have otherwise skipped.
looking forward to the Utah Retro Game Swap!
I think of the song by Green Jelly called Three Little Pigs when I see Oink! for Atari 2600.
This was a GREAT video. Thank you for the recommendations
6:55 images you can hear even with dialogue dubbed over it. :P one I may need to add to the collection soon! part shmup part light (like super light) metroid-ish exploration, definitely remember that one! OINK I hadn't heard a lot about, but will have to keep it in mind if the mrs. and I ever expand the collection to atari stuff.
I *LOVE* TIGER ROAD!!!! Absolutely delightful game. Very fun.
Wow love the doctor Doom look 😂
This is a cool series, I'm loving it.
(choice paralysis intensifies) Cheers John! Awesome video as usual.
cool video John, and the hair is on POINT!:) Thank you.

I’ve been playing Arcade Paradise on gamepass, and I’m really enjoying the variety of arcade machines. There’s one called Strike Gold which is pretty much the same as the Mr Driller game mentioned here.
Tetris ….”cylindrical” -like a cylinder. I’m thinking more rectangular. 😅

You remind me of Judge Doom with those glasses and that hair. Love the videos.
I'm so old I remember as a kid playing blaster master........ jesus! I'm old!!!!!!! Btw awesome vid youngin
Well I found my Dreamcast sir, on e bay for 400. Specially modified with a 3d printed GDEMU ODE, and the entire Dreamcast library. That includes Naomi, atomiswave, and various Japanese titles as well. Want to borrow mine 😁
I already own three of these and I don't have a ginormous collection! :B
I love how the Sega Genesis portrays lighting in there games. SOOOO crispy.😄
Air Fortress reminds of the arcade game Baraduke alot.
Also the master system version of Double Dragon has two player co-op mode that the nes doesn't.
Thank you for all the content! Just recently came across your channel and I’m glad I did. 🤘🏼

IMO Air Fortress is the most under appreciated NES title.
That NES game reminds me of Godzilla. Although I couldn't pick just one from any system, not even a top 10.
I remember renting assault rigs at my local video depot way back when(omg im old😅) got a winner off the gumball machine... good old days 😊
That rigs game reminds me of tanks in movie tron ❤
I have all three Blaster Master games for switch i absolutely love em the one for Sega Genesis is pretty fun but man is it hard
oink omg such a fun game and a old fav of mine when i played on the atari 2600, gee i fill old i was a kid when i played this back in the 80's
I’m picking up Oink! And Mr. Driller.
Assault Riggs looks like a 3d version of Tron Tank Battle
I have Oink! I loved this game, lol
Assualt Rigs looks really fun!
I feel like a few half quarter or 75% of people don't know about the Scarface Game on Ps2
Love Assault Rigs. One of the best PS1 games
I owned Oink! for the Atari 2600. Great game, once you figure it out.
Was playing Fire Pro this morning, top game
I still love Atari and still collect for it. And Oink is great.
Double Dragon for Master System was the best version of that game until we started getting arcade perfect versions.
oink looks cool!
Give me d-pad controls over dual analog any day. Just one ever so slight movement while using dual analog controls and your character is veering off in a direction ya don't want it too. I was heavily reminded of this when I watched my younger brother try out Sonic Frontiers to try help his little son try beat the first big boss. Dual analog was so twitchy it kept veering him to the side causing Sonic to fall all the way to bottom. If D-Pad was functional in Sonic Frontiers he could have just held up and got up easy. every. time.
John Riggs Back To Show Us The Way Enjoy The Weekend
Blaster master 2 , Seem like it was just missing some thing. I remember renting it back in the day. I didn’t care for it
I have loved airfortress since I got it as a kid. Iam not good at it..... but I like it still
I like John Riggs.
You should make a suggestion for the Apple Pippin, or Amiga CD 32 console!
This would make a great series
Never knew about Oink
Talk about the Sega Saturn please
I hope Balloon Kid gets added to GB Online
