Your correction is wrong first things is maj gen is not rank of field Marshal rank general is become the field Marshal and second thing is first field Marshal is K.M.kariappa and second one field Marshal is Manekshaw

Sir you are the one who is wrong. KM CARIAPPA was not only the first field marshal, he was also the first chief of Indian Army. Whereas, sam manekshaw lead in the 1971 war. I hope you're clear👍

And as bhavyanshu mentioned, if we look the date of conferment of their rank to field marshal, maneksha was conferred in 1973 whereas cariappa in 1986

Sam Manekshaw was the first field marshal of India, and was conferred the rank on 1 January 1973. The second was Kodandera M. Cariappa, who was conferred the rank on 15 January 1986.
