Reclaimed pallet wood wall.

Wasn't scheduled but I thought I would show the process of making a pallet wood wall. I hope you enjoy.

    Done this around my fireplace. Looks great with the rustic real look and modern wallpapers on other walls. Easy as well.

    Pallet wood is so effective, we really like what you've done here. We've just built a pallet wood wall for our "KZread Studio" and this video gave us good inspiration. Thanks!

    Just curious... pallets are more expensive for me where I live than just buying the wood new. Any suggestions on stain colors to match your project. I'm actually trying to match my kitchen table Tahoe ll from living spaces. Pulling my hair out thx in advance!

    Looks fantastic - good tips for when I'm prepping to do my own. If I could give one suggestion .... I'm not sure leaving the modern white skirting on the door and floor is optimal for the look. Still looks good but I think finishing those with something that matches the rustic shabby sheek look would be even better.

    Pat Car hey, in this case the client was very happy to have the different thickness planks, she said it was what she had imagined when she first thought of it. But if you wanted to have the boards the same thickness then I'd pass them through a thicknesser. Thanks for watching 🖒

  • @docholliday5184

    Might be a dumb question but did you sand both sides of the boards with your orbital sander? Also did you clean or bleach the boards at all after you sanded?.. I see some people do that but I'm thinking it might not be necessary on my project. Great work.

  • @ValhallaWoodworks

    @ValhallaWoodworks

    8 жыл бұрын

    Hi Yes I cleaned the boards but did not sand both sides, as I know exactly where the pallets come from I know the products that are on them so don't have to worry about any bad chemicals etc. If you know where the pallets come from I wouldn't take the extra time if it's not going to be seen or finished with a product. Try and use pallets from company's that use them to transport large items only, like bathroom suits, kitchens etc and as long as the have HT on them you will be perfectly safe to leave one side untouched. Steve

  • @ValhallaWoodworks

    Christopher Madrigal hi, you don't need to apply varnish but it gives it a good sheen and protects it a bit more, you could just use a wax or oil.

  • @ValhallaWoodworks

    @ValhallaWoodworks

    6 жыл бұрын

    avinash sinha pàllets are just wood , yes they will move slightly over time due to srinckage and expansion bit the woof itself as long as it's dry before you apply won't bend.

    Hi Joseph As long as you clean the boards and check them before installation then I wouldn't worry, I've not had an issue yet, if it's some thing that may worry you then I would give them a spray with some bug spray or soak then in wood treatment before installing.
