You can also freeze your sliced onions before adding them to the batter and once they are firm you can either put them in water to thaw or let them thaw and it allows you to peel the membrane off the inside of the ring and allows for the batter to stick better(learned it from binging with babbish, can’t remember the episode)

Ngl, it is so great that you do this. As although I know how to cook already, and learnt how when I was younger, often today young boys aren't taught how to cook, and even many girls are not taught either. So having a fun informative video like this would really help to actually get them loving and enjoying cooking. As I personally find it amazing, especially after some time when you get to understand what flavours work together to the point where you can experiment, and that's when things get awesome xD

As a woman child ngl I got hella confidence and almost touched the oil several times, but my kitchen still maintains its injury free record now 26 days strong. I skipped putting them in flour before battering them (almost out of flour lol) but they still turned out great and impressed my family. They were nice and crunchy. The onions broke nicely and stayed in the breading when bit. I cooked them in oil about 330°F -360°F til golden brown. I used different seasonings but the measurements of seasonings you used (most recipes I follow are “little bit of that” “big sprinkle of this” sort of instructions lol) made it pretty simple to customize the recipe while still keeping it similar to what you intended. Not as good as Red Robin’s (ugh, I dream about those) but definitely the best I’ve made at home and high on my list of onion rings, so thank you very much for sharing. My family thanks you 🫡

hello my fellow person who doesn't like booze. sweet white vinegars in place of white wine work well, for beer it depends on what its being used fr but in batters anything carbonated is good, if you're using it for the flavor I've subbed with unsweetened ginger beer or sometimes I can find soda with hops in it. kinda niche but when its there it works great.
