Rebuttal to all those who refuse to see what's going on in Oregon. Ohio State has a new serious foe.

Oregon has become an every year contender They have elevated the recruiting to 1A status and are now battling with Ohio State, LSU Alabama and Texas. The money appears unlimited and everything the general public has accused Ohio State of is actually happening in Eugene. Ohio State transfer class is ranked 8th and their 6 transfers is a lower number than 92 of 134 schools. #miamihurricanefootball #collegefootball #georgiafootball #alabamafootball #ohiostatefootball

Oregon guy here. Ok you're right about the NIL to a point. To a point. Oregon has no better financing that Texas A&M, Miami, Texas, Florida, Georgia. You gotta give Lanning credit for his culture too. Kids have fun here while working their damn ass off. Hell most of the Coaches are only 10 to 15 years older than the PLAYERS. And they can COACH as well. Really coach. They went into Kyle Wittinghams house and handed him his ass. Worst home defeat Utah has ever had. Washington last year just had an equal stud QB with THREE NFL ready recievers. Now last year Oregon and Washington couldn't compete with Michigan or Ohio State in the trenches. But Oregon has closed that gap. We already had the Oline but I've never seen a Pac team with this kind of D line. Our 2's are better than USC's ones! See you at Autzen. Should be epic.

I definitely don’t mean as an insult, but you do need the money because of the geographic disadvantage. A lot of these programs have advantages Oregon doesn’t. I’m fine with it. But the fact is, you’ve never been on so many top recruits in the country as you are the cycle. And you need to be in the best of the best guys at this level. And it’s OK it won’t be like that after you win a couple national championships. Check out my channel juck on Bucks. I’m much more active and there’s a lot of ducks.

Sanders is not making 4 million from the NIL collective. Those are endorsement deals he’s making on his own. A&M is not currently but they have in the past year one of NL they spent more than everybody. Oregon is taking the cake right now leaders in the clubhouse and that’s fine. They got a lot of disadvantages to overcome geographically. There’s nothing wrong with it, but it’s just the fact and that’s OK.

I was at the Oregon Georgia game 2 years ago. As I sat in the stands with my family watching my ducks get roasted, I began looking at the Georgia players, and their team in general, especially the defense. I knew Oregon was a very good team but I knew they were lacking something that held them back from that elite status that the Georgia's and Alabama's of the world had. Sure, it's nice to have great secondary play but I became focused on the D-line. These elite teams seem to always have, not 1, but 2 huge, and very athletic tackles that cause nothing but trouble for O-lines. Finally, it looks as though the ducks have those 2 players that will only raise the level of play for everyone surrounding them. I'm really looking forward to the season starting to watch this duck defense wreak havoc in the Big10. Go Ducks.

Oregon is probably top 15 in NIL for prep recruits and top 10 for portal recruits. When it comes to players already on the team they have to be top 3. This is where people are getting it wrong thinking Oregon just outspends everyone for every player. Oregon was originally generally in the top three for most of their transfer commits. Many liked Oregon but schools out East offered these west coast kids much bigger deals. When they loose their coaches and things start to unravel they come home. It’s not always exclusively about money, it’s about playing for a progrum you like and a coach you love.

The portal class is second ranked. Oregon has a lot of appeal. They also have a massive geographic disadvantage. They are able to leverage that disadvantage with their checkbook and they’re doing a great job with it. This is a knock. It’s just a fact. They have never been on so high to your prospects is they are recruiting cycle. They’re very aggressive offers much more than Georgia and Ohio State who they’re competing against for most of these prospects. There isn’t anything wrong with it it’s not against the rules, but it is what it’s happening. I commend them for not being satisfied and using everything in their power to be the very best in the country and they’re right there

Good knowledge of the program for someone with no reason to know much about them. Wish Mariota had some of his receivers in the '14 championship game. That really held them back. First off, I like the way you think… And I would like everything that you said in the video. And yes, I was pretty disappointed in 2014/15 when we lost our leading receiver because he smoked weed to celebrate, after we beat Florida State’s ass in the first playoff game ever. And to make matters worse, we lost another threat on the first play of the game, in Devon Allen, who is a damn good wide receiver, and one of the fastest 110m hurdle runners in the world. And if you watch that game over again, and you see how easy we scored Oregon’s first touchdown, you’ll understand why losing those two WR’s, killed us. Because even without them Oregon should’ve been up 21-7… but unfortunately, we had two open dropped balls on scoring drives that canceled out those 14 points. Had Oregon had those two wide receivers, on top of the other wide receivers, Ohio State would not have been able to run the ball, and wasted clock, because they would’ve had to have kept up with the quick scoring with Oregon’s pass game. They would’ve had had to put the game in an inexperienced Cardale Jones’ hands, because Oregon would have thrown it all over that Ohio State’s defense. And that was already happening without our wide receiver, and our best deep threat wide receiver. The only thing that was stopping us, was ourselves on those two drops. The other part of the game that would have been different, other than Elliot not getting 30+ carries, was Oregon’s defense wouldn’t have been gassed, because of dropped balls, and getting behind. Again, that happened because you were able to run Elliot… But that wouldn’t have happened, had we been up 21-7 and continued to hold that lead. And the game was ass backwards, all because of our WR smoked weed, agetting suspended. But, we will never know, because Oregon wasn’t able to field the full Oregon roster that beat the 💩 out of Florida State. That 2015 title game still pisses me off. But 2007 also pisses me off, because we had the Heisman Trophy winner, and the national title winning team, had our quarterback not got injured on a non-contact play with 4gms left in the season, partially tearing his ACL. Which he completely tore the next week in Arizona. But that’s part of being a duck fan. 2001 when we should’ve played Miami in the national title. 2010 when Chip Kelly decided to switch up his entire offense before we played Auburn. For whatever reason, he decided to play super slow and conservative… Instead of just beating the 💩 out of them. 2012 when De’Anthony Thomas doesn’t block for Mariota on a 70+ yard run, and we lose to Stanford. And that was Oregon’s most talented roster until recently. And then there’s four of the last five years, when we should’ve made the playoff. So yes, it’s been tough to be a duck fan, even though we weren’t relevant until after 1994. But I do agree… Dan Lanning is building some thing we’ve never seen before, and it’s giving Oregon fans hope. Hope that we’re actually going to see our team do something that we’ve continued to foul up, every time we had an opportunity to win it all.

With all due respect Ohio State had 17 Starters that were drafted in the NFL while Oregon had 6. Ohio State had 6 1st rounds and 3 2nd rounders while Oregon had 3 1st rounders and 1 2nd rounder. As far as the lost players, Ohio State lost it's starting QB then their backup. So, Ohio State started their 3rd stringer QB while Oregon lost 2 receivers. Those teams were similar but clearly Ohio State was much more talented. As far as special accolades Joey Bosa was DPOY, Zeke Elliot led the NFL in rushing and Michael Thomas led the NFL in receiving yards.

Ohio State is way outspending anyone right now! More than 12 million on The winter transfer portal alone, is what I've heard. Texas has been spending some money! Oregon is definitely solid but... This isn't buying talent This is the momentum Dan has brought to Eugene!

@@ramspencer5492 I truly wish they did spend that much. That number is way off and it originated from a Ryan Day quote from a couple of years ago when he said that it would probably take 13 million dollars for NIL. Then some lazy reporter this past year used that quote and applied it to this year's team. Ohio State brought in 6 players through the portal and only 3 of them are going to start this season. Where Ohio State hit a homerun was they returned virtually every Jr that could have left for the NFL. They also brought in a stud Safety and a stud RB who will become the 2 in a 1-2 punch.

You don’t have any idea what Ohio State spent. You just listen to national narratives they brought in six portal players. One of them from Ohio University. One of them the center that flipped the ball all over the place against Michigan. Four guys made money.

I just wanna touch on the 2 natty games Oregon played in. First against Auburn. As you said Cam Newton was a dominant QB & crushed every team he played accept Oregon. He had his worst game of that year vs Oregon when he went 20/34 2 TDs 1 pick with a 66.1 QBR & only 64 yards rushing on 22 attempts. That game featured the 2 highest scoring teams that season with both teams avg over 40 points per game. The final score was 22-19. Also, while I’m not saying Oregon would have won had they got the call right when Dyer was down, I will say that that blown call took away the opportunity for all of us to know who would have won that game. Because there was under 2 minutes to go & Auburn was still on their side of the field when that play happened. But since the refs got that call wrong it put auburn in scoring position & able to just burn the clock & kick the FG with 2 seconds left. Against tOSU you said that game was over at kick off. It definitely wasn’t. Oregon took that opening possession & scored with ease. They never even hit 3rd down on that drive & scored in under 3 minutes. tOSU on their first drive ran 6 plays then punted. Here’s where I felt the game turned in your favor. After trading punts & Ohio state scored making it 7-7 Oregon had a 3rd & 12 where our WR was wide open & dropped the pass that would have at the very least put us in the red zone but could have been a TD if Stanford out ran your safety. Instead of going up 14-7 & keeping the momentum we punted & you guys took the momentum & lead & never gave it back. But while the final score was 42-20 that game was 28-20 going into the 4th. But by the 4th Zeke was just too much to stop & pounded us to finish the game. It definitely feels like Lanning will be the guy to finally get us over that hump & im excited to have you guys as conf opponents along with the rest of the big10. Let’s go dominate the CFPs & put an end to the stupid SEC 😂. Enjoy your season & see y’all Oct 12th!

@@JuckOnCFB yeah I’m not disputing the winning the game part. I was just saying where I feel like the game fully shifted & more or less took the wind out of our sails on that wide open pass that Stanford dropped. The only chance we had was to keep scoring to be in the lead or even & try to force y’all to abandon the run game because ultimately Zeke is what killed us. But now that Lanning is bringing in the type of talent needed to win a natty I can’t wait to see how his career goes the rest of the way. Being a duck fan since the early 90’s I never thought our program would have even been the one we’ve had over the years.

If you have not read the Knight Commission Report (no relation to Phil Knight), you are not qualified to share an opinion in the comments. Oregon is the richest program in college athletics. Yes above Texas and Texas A&M. Phil Knight is giving absurd money to them. Read it and then come back and tell people that Oregon won’t spend their way to a championship level roster.

You don't often start a true freshman on the defensive line but Matayo's been explosive so far and he's only in his sophomore year. And 14 transfers is just the way of things in the modern world. NIL and unlimited transfers without sitting penalties have seen to that. Dan's doing the best with the cards dealt in this new era and it's been damned impressive thus far.
