Okay. First thing first. This car has no value for a proper car enthusiast. The RS badge does nothing to change that. Here is why. It's nightmare to service,as the whole engine is pushed far ahead near the radiator. Second, the engine sits right above the front axle, and it's pretty heavy too,so handling of this car is terrible. It's heavy, handles like a pig,not reliable, rusts a lot and the list is endless. With these money I would've got E46 330i or even M3 in bad condition and restore it. And it's value will only go up.

My 2003 audi rs6 has over 390k miles. I've rebuilt the engine once, and rebuilt the transmission twice. The KEY to these cars lasting a LONG time is actually very simple.... Replace ALL rubber hoses every 5-6 years. The only other key requirement is making sure the drains under the hood near the firewall DO NOT clog up. Water will enter the cabin and flood the electronics under the driver and passenger seats if you don't keep this drains cleared of leaves and other crap. BAM that's it, car will last 1 million miles reliably.

Well done, great to see one of these going back on the road and being saved form being parted out. I had a mint one of these for four years and at the time there were only about 300-400 still on UK roads out of the original 8000 imported. Still miss it and have contemplated acquiring a neglected one to bring back to life, and it's interesting to watch someone else cut a path to doing so. I do almost all the work on my 2011 VW Transporter myself, having taken advantage of Covid to take the time to learn how to do so, including a lot of factory retrofits. I think this could be within my reach now. Keep up the good work.

Hiya mate, fellow hobbiest here enjoyed the video! Thought I'd leave a commen about your front grill... it looks like yours has been spray painted black over the original chrome (poorly) you can see where the stone chips are revealing the original audi chrome beneath it, If you give that grill a little rub down with some Isopropyl and a microfiber that thin layer of black spray paint will more then likely come right off.. you may just have a half decent grill I know this because I'm most the way through an S3 8L rebuild which is of similar generation in terms of age, i had bought a grill that was spray painted black like that, i literally hit it with some isopropyl and it was like brand new after that, and it didn't eat the chrome either, it just took off the black paint and grey primer layer in one wipe. All the best with the proj! maybe give it a bash :)

It’s like watching Mat Armstrong on time lapse 😅 you’ve managed to pretty much complete this build in one video where Mat would have spaced it out over 3-4 😂 great job! Also I love finding local companies that can do a job quicker, cheaper and better than the main stealers 😎 I found a hydraulics company near me that make silicone hoses. I managed to get specially made hoses for my old ktm 250 sxf for about £15 a few years ago where as the cheapest ones on line were £35 +p&p and they had them ready the next day

Love this channel, Im currently stuck in a hospital bed after an op and was bored senseless and found your videos on the Audi, hours later I've watched you on the Audi, rover, fiat, newer Audi, a Peugeot and had a laugh at you and your good lady cleaning it, been watching the videos back to back for hours now, great videos, love the fact you are learning as you go along, one thing I will say is your temper and self control is amazing, hit a problem you laugh at it and deal with it where I would be doing a Basil Faulty and battering hell out the car.....working my way through them all, currently on the Jag video, bargain, love those cars!!!

@@NotEconomicallyViable thank you, every word deserved 👏 So far op has gone well, a bit of pain still but I made it, 8 hour op as complications which they wouldn't tell me about but just like your car's a jump start and a bit of jiggling about with the electrics and all running again

24:25 the click you hear is the magnetic switch that physically enables you to change positions of the lever when the brake pedal is pressed. It’s perfectly normal aside from being a bit loud on the video. You can remove the silver plate of the lever and look down inside, you should be able to see it, maybe it is a bit shifted because of the impact of the accident. You can even move it manually with a long and slim tool in case of electrical problems that way.
