What do you think of the '85 Mazda RX7 in all its glory?

I had a 81 Rx 7 along time ago. Looks like a exactly like. Porsche slantnose 911. Drove for 3 Years drove smooth, bad gas mileage . nice handling.

I was the first Mazda dealer in Connecticut I have owned & built Rotary engines for Sprint car racers since I was 14 yr.s old , before they outlawed them . I have built turbo , huge single turbo , twin-turbo , sequential turbo , Supercharged , Street , mild ported & full Bridge-ported 12A, 12B ,13B & 20B engines of all kinds for all the rotary engines cars I've owned privately . They will always have a place in my heart ❤ & my eardrums 🙉

There was a first gen turbo, that's why the FC turbo were called Turbo II, the first were just not available in the US.

Nice! I figured there had to been a turbo model cause I do remember seeing it back in the day. That’s why I asked that question in the video 😊👍

The II referred to its twin scroll turbo

The redline buzzer/alarm was a surprise. Fun car.

We used to drive them around the Track & we knew if we heard the buzzer in our ear peices that the engine was in the power band 🤓

Actually the FB did come in turbo but only in japan. Thas why when the FC became a turbo they named it a Turbo II as in the second turbo. It confused people in the US at first because they thought it meant twin turbos.

The full length show was fun to watch

My 1st car was a 1979 rx7 this was like 2001 maybe. So always wanted to get another one and do a restomod! Love it.

Got love the rx7 ❤. Rotary power is blast iv rid in a carb version from early 1980 in it was amazing the guy shift so late power band let engine rev out to max power every shift. I almost bought same car with a auto but pasted it by. That datsun skyline is a dream

12a was offered in Japan tho jdm engine although the 12a was almost the same as the NA 12a engines we got realize the rotors were slightly different in compression ratio an the 12at was even running a nikki carb under boost from the factory and boy could they sing I've gotten the opportunity to ride around in a few of them in the us omg to much fun

Mazda 1985 RX-7

I am the original owner of an special edition RX7 1984 GSLSE. When hard times hit in 1997, I droveve it into the garage expecting to bring it out the following year. Flash forward to 2023 and I need to fix the garage, I need to get rid of it. Has not been started since ‘97. The hood can’t be opened and the new ‘97 tires are shot so it needs to be towed. Any suggestions on how to find someone who would want to buy it for parts or repair. Need a quick answer and quick fix. I am just north of Boston

The first gen rx7 has a stiff suspension no need for coilovers. The money spent on the spoilers , flares and struts. Should have gone to exhaust , air intake and performance tires on the factory wheels...

I had a 1883 RX-7. It was the last year they had a choke. Wasn't the fastest but it moved and it was a oil burner.
