@@AlexRazorGame It still doesn't change the fact that the empire destroy worlds while the rebels are trying to stop that from happening. If you think that fighting for a side that took out planets and enslave people are innocent or in the grey then you have a twisted moral compass. Obviously there are bad and goods on both sides..but lets not play around and acknowledge that the amount of corruption and evil is equal between both factions. The best example here is what we're living through right now. Ours truly Trump saying that both sides have good people..sure..one side likes to threaten people by carrying arms and bring shields and clubs-carrying fire torches and driving a car into a crowd of pepole-how about the other side? They are only a reaction to that lot.

+Vasun05 While storm troopers are not even nearly as elite as clone troopers they're still supposed to be excellent marksmen, for example in a new hope the rebels on the Tantive IV defended a bottleneck and the storm troopers easily overwhelmed them and only suffered 2 casualties if I remember correctly. The only reason why they didn't repeat later in the movie was because they had orders to let the Millennium Falcon escape. And in Return of the Jedi they kinda had to portray them as completely incapable imbeciles or else the story wouldn't have worked.

in all honesty many of the soldiers that fought on hoth knew that if they didnt make it, they were on their own. they accepted it, knowing that it meant certain death. many rebels died in such situations knowing that they fought for the freedom of the galaxy. they bought their comrades the time to escape knowing that their sacrifice meant the rebellion lived on. there were plenty of instances of this throughout the galactic civil war (rebellion era).

Ranting aside, Disney did a fine job with the terrain and scenery on Scarif. And they didn't do too badly with Jakku, Takodana, Ahch-To, etc, even though these were derivatives of original Star Wars environments. Disney's failings were on the characters and the narratives, not the settings.

Each second of movie has 30 frames. Animators had to work on simultaneously several movements in each frame. Each second of the probe drone or AT-AT movement requires at least 2 hours of stop motion work. Basically 2 guys work meticulously the whole evening for 1 second of movie content. It is not counting the time of set up, editing, and deleted scenes. Now watch the video again , calculate the time of stop motion (I counted at least 50 second, that is 1500 frames) and appreciate the artists labor of love. then go to click like and share.

Best quality fan film ever done for Star Wars-- AND NOT A SINGLE LIGHTSABER!!! THIS NEEDS A SEQUEL ASAP!!!!!! Amazing work! Amazing costumes! and visually the usage of practical effects was worth the added effort. Storywise, at first I felt the storm trooper randomly being alone was a little forced. But the moment she took off her helmet, I got a deep feeling of sympathy for two people who didn't want to be the warriors they had signed up to be. That alone is worth more than story detail. The moment the film ended I was ready for part II. Just take my money and go!

Lightsabers are great when they are saved for special moments, not used all the time. This goes for pretty much everything in film that you want to maintain it's charm. You don't overdo it. In Empire Strikes back, Luke only uses it for about 5 seconds when he defends himself from being eaten, a second time for about 5 seconds when he slices open the AT-AT and then maybe 60 seconds tops when he ventures into the cave with the vision of Vader. Essentially, they save the lightsaber for the good shit at the end... Vader and Luke's duel, which remains the greatest lightsaber sequence in any of the films or animated series.

Wow, what a difference real locations makes! Really awesome film, just a couple small things: - Love the stop motion, but if you do more scenes with the AT-ATs, try to give them a better sense of weight. This one appears too "light" because the main body isn't moving up and down enough to mimic the giant lumbering quality of something that large. - Why didn't the imperial radio for help? Was his blaster shot supposed to fry her communication device on her chestplate? I found it a little odd that she just sat there really silently without doing anything, or attempting to call for help. Troopers are always quick to signal for reinforcements when they're in trouble. - I know it's supposed to be "acting" but the long pause inbetween him checking her and her finally talking is too long. We're pretty much expecting her to say "get it over with" anyway, so sooner rather than later would be best. Sometimes overly-pregnant pauses like this can hurt amateur/fan films. Other than that though, a really wonderful job. Great sense of tone, and good musical choices.

I agree that SW7 was all around pretty bad (particularly dialogues, character devellopement and story, well pretty much everything that makes a good movie). But saying that these special effects are better than SW7 is just ludicrous. Say all you want about that movie, the SFX of SW7 are incredibly good. Don't get me wrong, the SFX in this short movie must have been very hard to make and the team is talented, but you just can't beat the money SW7 had for it and the incredible possibilities and talents you can buy with them.
