Rebel Raiders in Gettysburg
157 years ago, on the morning of Friday, June 26, 1863, Confederates under the command of General Jubal Early left their camps near Greenwood and traveled east across Adams County. They torched Thaddeus Stevens’ furnace, brushed aside local militia, gathered horses, supplies, and provisions, and occupied the town of Gettysburg. This program by ACHS historians Tim Smith and Andrew Dalton will explore the fascinating accounts left by local citizens who witnessed the events of “Early’s Raid.”

My 2nd G.Grandfather, John Henry Hoffman was a Pvt. in Co. B. (same as Sandoe) of the 21st. Pa. Cav.. He is buried at the National Soldier's Cemetery at Gettysburg.
I enjoy Smiths knowledge and he is easy to understand. Relatable. Better than most LBG's a and better than most rangers. He speaks with emergingcivilwar and is a bit above some of the other speakers. He gets by on substance rather than antics. Salute.
