I really enjoy this knife. I got the satin and green version initially, while I waited for my copper and black version to arrive a couple of weeks later. I also wish it was a little bigger, as the position it naturally takes in my hand before I open it requires me to move it up a little first, in order to get my thumb on the studs. I have to shift it that same half inch in my hand to do the reverse flick as well. I think that 8 inches with a 3.5" blade would be perfect. Move it from Ritter Mini RSK size to full size Ritter RSK size.

Been daily driving this baby a few weeks now, love it. I agree that the little lock switch is...well...little. Almost feels like an afterthought. Thanks MC!

If they made it higher then people would be saying that the secondary lock switch was too big. Can't win em all.

Great knife, at least for the time being it’s kicked my Spyderco Yojimbo 2 out of my pocket & into the knife case. In about two weeks of carry, I haven’t yet found a flaw. I use it often and play with it perpetually, super fun & fidgety pocket companion! Great review MC!

Great work knife from Reate!

I really like the PLXT (wish they gave it an actual name tho lol) it actually has a little detent ball in there that makes it feel like firing out a liner lock. I was worried I wasn’t going to like it when I realised how thick it is but it isn’t nearly as bad as I thought it would be on paper. The contouring on the scales goes a long way to mitigating the thickness and stopping it feeling too blocky. The blade is thick but well ground so it still feels pretty slicey. You can absolutely take it apart the whole way too lol. Dunno what freaked MC out so much 😂

I wasn't ready for how thick it is. It makes sense with the locking mechanism, but it's pretty wide for the profile.

I really like this offering...if they offer it in an upgrade steel, I'm in.

Ill wait for the bigger one.8 inches is my sweet spot with my hands.😄

I have this exact model thanks to EKnives. I do wonder if some places consider it a gravity knife because if you push the pivot in the blade will open with no resistance.

Each state unfortunately define gravity knives completely different from one another. I will say that it's mechanism (pivot decompresses allowing blade to swing freely) is no different in theory than all of the button locks (plunge locks on a spring) that are on the market currently. I haven't heard of any instances yet where someone had an issue with a button lock being considered a gravity knife, so I'd think that this would be categorized similarly. Especially since the main form of deployment is obviously the thumb studs and it doesn't solely rely on the pivot button swinging the blade out.

I was able to find a copper one on Knife Center before they sold out. Pretty happy with it, and seems plenty strong to me, I spine whacked it reasonably hard and nothing. Great knife especially for the price.

I just wish they had Polished the DLC Copper Blade like CJRB did their Pyrite Bowie.

My Reate PL-XT from DLT had bad button stick. I sent it back, and they said there was a burr on it which they fixed. I haven't received it yet, so I don't know how well it is fixed. It was so bad, I couldn't push button in to release the blade. If it worked at it, eventually I could get it closed.

Hey metal- it seems like the internal frame lock it’s fixed in there kind of like a spyderco, but it’s not. Definitely worth opening just to see the massive bearings! I had no issues breaking it completely down and getting it back together and I’m pretty sure you’re better at dissessembly than me 😅

PS- one of the interesting things is that the smoothness of the action is coming from a very very sticky lubricant they are using- basically knife grease. I was a little disappointed by this because I felt like it’s kind of cheating

I picked up one of these on the drop. Snagged this one with the copper PVD and while I really like the knife, something was wrong with the pivot lock. It would be good at first then it would get crunchy and sometimes lock open without the switch being engaged and sometimes it would lock closed. I had to return it. With Reate's normal quality, I'm sure I just got a rare dud.

I could have been. But this does happen with mine as well occasionally and I have 3. You have to push the pivot in and spin it down more to fix. Maybe adjust spring. It takes a little finking with sometimes. It’s definitely not a perfectly refined system yet with this knife. I’d give it another go though

Mine did the same and I was frustrated for the amount of money. I thought it would be better. I returned it as well. Too much adjustment with no use and just some fidgeting.

I've had a lot of trouble with mine too, but jkurtzz is right. When the pivot is screwed all the way down (below the lip when closed) stick doesn't occur.

Bravo 💪

Yeah... my small knife fix has been quenched over the last decade. I'll wait for a larger version to drop.

Yep, still there. Wish I'd known about that store earlier. I do like that copper PVD but not enough to have two of these so I'll just stick with the one I've got.

I hate the PLXT! Because I spent my CC limit this week. I realized the difference between the Reate PLXT and something like my Kansept Shard Tiger ... No hate on Kansept I have 18. Here is the list. Manix 2 M4, Ritter Mini RSK, Bugout silver/grey aluminum M390, Shark Cub BHQ exclusive, mini Griptilian, Rose Gold Pyrite, Kirby Raine Lava ... it feels like an assisted but isn't. Back to the list; Kershaw (my hook that started back in 97) BelAir, OGK Blackout Baby Rhino, the next knife I blame on MC, Kunwu Chad CF with PM60 ... Not a Tao I know but man is it beautiful. MC if you have any thoughts on PM60 wade on in. Back to the list hmmm oh yeah a purple penguin plus and a green penguin. As of this post I have all of the Benchmade items the manix 2 and Chad. I am waiting on the remaining orders to arrive. I blame this squarely on Reate and you MC! Where can I send the bill?

Mine was horrible. I had to tinker with it for 30 minutes to get it closed. Didn't wanna take it apart, so just returned it.

I have 3. I do have occasional lock stick. Try taking out the pivot completely and cleaning it down and swapping with their replacement spring. Respin down pivot and get it almost as deep as it will screw. In closed knife position the button should be low enough to be lower than the small lip of of the scale that protrudes. Hope that helps

Didn't realize it was supposed to be in so far. Guess I'll have to get some lock-tite, the pivot keeps backing out.

Sooo..... apparently when we were moving my mom mentioned that one of her ex bfs left behind a supposedly 200peice+ knife in one of the hundreds of identical boxes we had while moving.....guess I'ma tear the whole garage up going thru box after box looking for this collection 😅 Wish me luck!

Yeah I bet water will get trapped in that lock mechanism, if you don't take care to blow it out and oil it you could have some issues

Imagine sand or concrete dust in there instead. All of my knives are users and stuff like that happens regularly. I really like that thick/rounded handle though, would love this knife in a larger model with a crossbar lock. I would've bought the smaller one in copper when mc dropped his first video about it but it was already gone everywhere. Got one in-stock e-mail notice a week or two later and it was already sold out when I checked literally a minute later.

The internal system is very sealed off. I could see water making it's way in, but not likely debris or dust very easily
