One day one day you will be very very famous and thanks for the tips
As far back as I can remember, I sat at my Dad’s elbow as he would sit at the kitchen table to rebuild a carburetor, generator, or fabricate a part for an engine. He had infinite patience and even with his huge hands and calloused fingers, he made delicate adjustments. How I miss him and the volumes of knowledge and skills he had with only an 8th grade education. On the farm you had to be mechanic, electrician, animal handler, horticulturist, veterinary, weather man and manage to be husband and father. I am so very thankful for my Dad and the farmer’s wife, my Mom, who worked shoulder to shoulder with him. 🥰

@@jackmorgan1677 Thank you. My picture is how my mind’s eye sees myself but I am 72 and that pic is me at about 30. Lol. So just as a reference because I speak of farming in the 1960s. My Dad was born in 1927. My throat swells and my eyes tear because I loved my folks so much. Memories are precious and I really know how lucky I was to grow up in the environment they provided. I value the family that was then and the wonderful family I have now. Thank you again
I work for a VERY large company and years ago they went to "Just in Time" parts supply. The reason is because our state charges HUGE tax for inventory. Tax is a wasted expense, so it must be eliminated. This country is truly become the: 'I earn a dollar, but I take home 2 cents'

@@jimherman859 Not in my state. If it is inventory sitting on the shelf, it gets taxed. It's so bad here that we have the product moving on a assembly line so it is not static, thus it wont get taxed.

Your company pays taxes on the money they make each year. Your company can't hide part of its yearly profit by buying up a lot of inventory and pretending that profit did not exist. Most still find ways to cheat though.

Past this video to my husband, he likes watching work on your tractors!
I'm impressed mostly with, your ability to run off those ID and OD measurements, so readily; off the top of your head. 👍
I'm going to emulate your confident, and positive attitude when I'm working on stuff! Never a curse or feeling of defeat!
Love your mechanical videos! Even though I was m mechanic for many years, I enjoy watching you work on the old tractors. Looking forward to seeing you get into the transmission of the IH. Greetings from San Francisco!
I am happy that I came across your channel. I traded off my old 504 utility diesel. It was rough when I bought it and no better when it left. I now have the 504 Farmall row crop. It is in great shape and I want to keep it that way. Thanks for your great guidance. Rob
I'm not even a mechanic but I love all your videos and appreciate how knowledgeable you are!
Having worked for an oilfield supply company, I understand your supply chain issues. For a company that was supposed to stock and sell parts, inventory was a four letter word. Managers were judged, first and foremost, on their inventory metrics. None of that would have been a problem except that their competitors knew it and stocked accordingly also making sure all of the customers knew it. They laid me off in February of this year which initially made me mad but now that they are in the rear view, I realize getting away from that poorly run outfit was a blessing in disguise.
I've been turning wrenches for like fifty years... and your videos are always relaxing to watch. On your carb cleaner, I work on circuit boards, and the very best carb cleaner (for cleaning the boards) I've found is the B-12 Chemtool. That's the only one that doesn't leave a residue after it flashes off. That might be a bonus to use, especially if you're relying on a secure bond with the Loctite. Thanks for the videos!
Woot-woot, I saw this just a minute after upload! Any day with a tractor video is a good day for me! I’ll be working on my old Ford 8N later this morning (I’m on Pacific Time). Happy Sunday, Pete!!

Happy Sunday Anna!
Fantastic know how and I love the patient way you explain everything. I'd love to have this type of mechanical ability. Much respect Pete.
Pete - its called a trouble lamp for a reason!!
I'm glad you got your parts in Mr. Pete. The 504 is my favorite of the newer Farmalls you have. You tell your dealer I said those Farmalls of yours will still be running when his Kubotas have been recycled into something else. You won't see them or any other of the new tractors built today at tractor shows 50 to 75 years from now.

Fantastic video. Love the engineering side of your winter life. You’re a very knowledgeable man Pete.
Great job. Arizona.
So glad you finally got your parts. So looking forward to hearing it run properly. Awesome. Even Ray Magliozzi ( the living CarTalk brother) will appreciate this.
You could have created more suspense alluding to a unresolved issue. Still fascinating. Thanks Pete.
Hey Pete, great How-To video, God's Good Blessings to you and your beautiful family keep up the good work really enjoy your podcasts and adventures on the homestead God's Good Blessings
I'm in a restoring my 504 right now she should be Parade ready by summer
My brother-in law has a 504 junkyard. They’ve been using those as a utility since they were new. He’s got one in the fence row I’m trying to wangle away from him. We will see. Thanks Pete and Happy Sunday

@@matthewtaylor2185 I have 6, there’s about a dozen or more at my brother’s and brother-in law’s. Maybe more if I go beat through the fence rows over there. They have a huge shop down in the back with so much junk in the bushes it’s hard to tell anymore. Used to have a couple old R190s and at at least one IH pickup. You’d about kill yourself getting in that mess now😜
My wife and I went to "Plow Days" here in MO yesterday where a bunch of old tractors and plows come out to a field and go to town til it's all plowed. Saw a really cool Oliver track tractor, a SUPER clean Farmall Super C and a 540, among other nice old tractors. Don't let any of the haters get to you my friend; we love your videos!
Love the 504
Well, just tell them, it was nice doing business with them and 'good luck, they will need it'. Case IH where always my favorite farm equipment. Best wishes all.
My first tractor was a row crop 504 that my grandpa gave me for Christmas after we restored it together
Great video! So glad you decided to keep making videos about even the most controversial aspects of independent farming, that unfortunately generate negative vibes.
Winter has moved in when Pete is doing his tractor!
I agree with many of the comments on parts availability. I am old enough to remember going into a dealership and having employees there that looked at a book or just new what you needed and went to bin and pulled out the part. I also fully agree the older Farmall and John Deere tractors will be still long after the Kubota’s of today are gone. Keep up the great videos.
A happy Pete is good👍👍👍
Enjoy the rebuild videos! Especially the problem solving when things don’t go right.
Loved the video Pete. You should invest in a good head lamp. I got sick of messing with a trouble light when I work on my tractors.
Love your tractor repair videos. I am 60 being a mechanic/ maintenance all my life. I can see me doing this same thing. It's a lost trade. THANKS FOR YOUR VIDEO GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR BEAUTIFUL FAMILY 👉♥️♥️⚘⚘👍👍
i was glad to see you're getting the 504 put back together, gonna need to move hay soon.
I'm always glad to see more mechanical videos, but I'm even more happy to see that the comments aren't full of complaints from armchair mechanics. Can't wait to see the 504 up and running.
I really enjoy these mechanical videos Pete! Don’t mind the ‘know it all’s’ and keep them coming
Watch this twice cause fell asleep the first time. These videos are relaxing but also I was hungover today.
You need a magnetic light. Maybe it wont fall all the time. Really enjoyed the video
Thanks for another great video Pete!
Hello Pete nice job. My opinion detent on the raise position is not good should not be there. You pick up something get distracted next thing you know it's on top of you because the loader continued raising. Great video thanks your efforts. Have a great day.
Tractor video! Awesome!!!
Appreciate how you explain everything as your repairing it. Thanks Pete for sharing
great video Pete!!! enjoyed it as always
You’re a very knowledgeable and patient man Pete.👍🏾
I love seeing theses mechanical videos on theses old tractors, keep up the great work
Great video. I enjoy all your videos and I learned something I didn’t know about concerning the detent on the hydraulics. Thanks
Really enjoy these mechanical videos, I'm picking up some good problem solving ideals for when I'm working on My 1948 Chev Pickup. Have a great day can't wait for the next video.
Well done Pete
Looking forward to tomorrow's video Pete, Nice Job🤞👍
Great stuff Pete👍👍👍
Great video. Thank you.
Happy Sunday Pete, Hillary and family! Hugs🤗💜🤗
Always love your videos and the way you operate your farm! You have encouraged me to get back into farming and start my own farming and repair channel.
Thanks for sharing
This was absolutely GREAT. Thank you so much for video-documenting this. This sort of information is absolute gold. Thank you. Cheers, Jim
Enjoyed the video today Pete. I never realized that carburators were so complex.
Good job Pete.
Excellent work I wish I had that much understanding with my 61 Ford
Thank you for this video. We are probably going to have to rebuild the governor on our Super C next spring and now we'll use your video as our guide. Excellent job as always Pete.
you should wear one of those lights on your head that we use when we go camping
Great video!!
Thanks Pete
Y’all have great video thank y’all like all your video 👍👍👍🙏🏻
You are impressive Pete!
209 k , that is fantastic seeing this channel grow
ty Pete.
Loved it. Thanks!
Some good advice with the method of rebuilding the governor on drilling out the housing for the bushing. Also liked how you kept the hydraulic valve shaft to follow up with the other side. I have done some of this, but I have to do it in the open, so I had my tractor done by the shop. Wow did that cost me! Great video, I'll be looking out for the follow up video. Thanks for sharing and I'll see you later, have a wonderful week, stay safe out there.
Fascinating.....
Looking forward to part 2.
Thanks for the video Pete I like the tractor videos
Top job bud 👍🏻
It's a relief to see people doing there own work. Great videos as usual and maybe if you need parts there's always ebay.

There's an on line place you can find everything for any tractor. "Yesterday Tractors" FYI

YT carries some, but not all of the parts I needed. Plus it usually takes them a week or more to ship parts to me, and I'm usually not happy to have to wait that long. When it comes to buying parts online, there are literally hundreds of sources to choose from, and I have favorite suppliers for each type of part, that I've gotten comfortable with over the years.
Wow! Not bad for an architect!
I've got to do the same on my 504.
Looking forward to seeing and hearing it run Pete. It’ll purr like a Tom Cat in a creamery I bet!!
YAY! Grab the popcorn 🍿…. Come on, this will be fun 🤩
Remind me what the story is behind the different college shirt in each video…? Keep up the good work!
Great fun
Love these tractor repair and fix videos you produce. I’m really hoping you’ll be able to start the finishing steps of the MD soon though? Any idea when you’ll be able to start that?
My 656 has a Freeman loader on it, I know the pain of trying to work around it.

Pete, I enjoyed the video and your Gator Shirt ! commenting from Gator Country
The problem with businesses keeping a lot of inventory, is they have to pay tax on it every year.
My old man said, the more grease the better. Also if you don't have fancy tools but can do the same job with a piece of ash wood? If it got the job done without messing it up it's all ok don't see a problem. Sometimes you just have to become creative. The 504 seems a very interesting tractor for it's time. The stockpiling issue is not only CASE IH and NEW HOLLAND dealers. If you have a older machine try to have a decent stockpile but then the issue comes now what exactly do I need? Our local dealers are giving up on old Soviet and Russian tractor parts cause some of the older models are obsolete and the china knockoff parts are not work even selling to the customers. Then there are other trends where people have plenty old tractors but they don't buy anything since they use them less and less. That itself creates for the shop and store owners another problem. Too many stockpiled things that can't be sold.
I know you take pictures of things before dissemble remember you mentioned it before, do you also make some hand sketches to go along with them? As detailed as you are, be neat to see the sketches. Another great video.
5 seconds of Ezra is needed
Have you ever used "Petronic's" to replace the points? I have them in my 67 C-60 for years. Works great
Because of you im buying myself magnet only led light for workshop work :D
Pete please clean aroud where you replaced the parts so will be red amd shinny!😁
