I realize it now, there is just dark and light. I am gonna go back to the light theme since the dark theme gives me a depressed feeling. So I might stick with that for now

£200 for the crossgrade from 12?...Ouch! Cubase crossgrade to 13 pro was WAY cheaper.

Been messing around with 13 since upgrading this morning. This might be my favorite update to Reason in a long time. So many little quality of life updates to the sequencer that make producing quite a bit faster. I didn't know what to think about the new browser at first but im getting used to it and its also very quick compared to before. Using the F9 key to switch it on and off makes it fast for auditioning sounds and it syncs with my Nektar T4 perfectly

Not worth $199 though not at al

Really wanted screen reader support, V13, like V12 is a step backward for screen reader users. In V12 the only way to get access to the browser is via OCR and in V13, even using OCR is made harder, by needing to use object nav to get focus out of the text box before using OCR. Also would of be nice to see a little work on updating Remote, perhaps in a later update.

If you are coming to reason 13 from version 10 I think one of your biggest enjoyments will actually be the combinator upgrade released in version 12!

@@reasonexperts Ik kan niet wachten om te zien wat je allemaal met de nieuwe combinator gaat doen. (Had stiekem al verwacht dat dat al eerder een reden voor je zou zijn om te upgraden maar dat heb je al uitgelegt ) Je bent echt 1 van de weinigen die heel diep en duidelijk om kan gaan met instellingen. Alvast zwz Bedankt! Ik mis zelf de favorieten lijst in 13 . Ik denk dat ik wacht met upgraden tot ze dat hebben toegevoegd. ... en dat is jammer want de rest van de upgrade is echt beter dan 12.

I dont think: anybody need more than a few knobs in 1 music if everything is automated; doesnt matters. If we need more than 4 knobs just open the combinator and see the instruments and effects what we used. I just never understanding these limitations if the better options are already here. Maybe they are doesnt know how to program iunlimitedly.

Not seing $199. That's an almost comical asking price for an upgrade that should have been $49 with the synth an optional buy in the shop.

well, you will love the new combi2 you have the limits up to 34 or 37 buttons or so.

32 knobs/faders, 32 buttons. Only downside is the hard split between the two instead of just giving us 64 controllers. I usually don't need a lot of buttons but sometimes need more than 32 knobs/faders.

@@Pieter_Auper dude we can still have 32 buttons yes, it's still a lot but we also can add over 32 switches in total we have over 64 + the two mod wheels + the on & off fx as a former reason 5 user this shout have been in day 1 in reason all other daws don't even have limits in their combis for example, waveform, fl studio & bitwig and aw yeah Ableton . and several months ago, i figure out that i can use the mix channel as a form of a container you know a combinator inside of a combinator type of deal only problem is it doesn't have any export button but i don't care i just copy past between files. and if i run out of button controls. let's not forget that i can still use Thor or even Kong as a form of control voltage

@@Pieter_Auper we are only a bit screwed on the cv part of the combi 2 yes, we have 10 in puts and only 4 for the buttons someone from reason need to learn how responsive UI work like won't make more scene if we have 32 knobs in the front to have at least 32 cv in for the buttons if they spawn on the front of the combi. reason it's like leagues of leagues they have so many spaghetti code in their game that it will crash when you try to add or fix bugs in the game

you know you add 1 knob in the front you get 1 cv output or input for it too .

The problem is; i made an unlimited conbinator concept for them; and they still made a limited combinator which cannot be used as: combinator in a combinator which is in another combinator etc. ...maybe if you using reason rack vst in the reason combinator..

so there is midi... and the combinator 2 already included this midi problem. I think you are aware of this right? Since well... the newly assigned rotaries you design don't respond. So how did you solve this in your solution bit? Midi isn't unlimited, so you are going to solve this with midi2? No you are not, because midi2 is still based on boundries. So how you solve those? ​@@reasonexperts My concept is nothing about midi protocoll, just the idea where and how combinator in combinator will possible visually. the combinators remains instruments separately: depends on which one is selected. The top combinator can save all of the added instruments data (including the other combinators). Not a big deal to make a combinator as an instrument because all of the syntss and effects doing it the same. The difference will Maybe with the upper combinator saving methods because than can save more than one comb files simultenously. Just need a programmer there...nothing to do with the midi protocoll because this is the daw "own" instruments area i think. Your idea is nice when the buttons and sliders can handle more than one billionare numbers : i want it too because of the precisity. i dont know why the daw built in an old midi protocoll. Maybe the 128 more than enough for everybody. I liked the old eq back then but why they want to tell you which frequency adding is possible and which one not? Because of these limitations: your ears also remain limited...this is the "problem" and the source of these idea. Sometimes limitatiions can help us, but if we would like to grow and lern something new: the analog style of the Life the best way to do that.

is it possible to buy just the reason rack? i know it was available on 11 or 12

I'll be honest. I don't know because I am a potato. what is this 'reason rack' and just buying it empty from a shelve? Like I said, I am a potato. I have no clue what you are trying to do at this point. If I buy buy a rack, I would go somewhere else though... Like something with a double D size. What are you even asking?

@@reasonexperts your name is reasonexperts and you're here making jokes 😂 . the reason rack VST was sold seperate from the DAW, so you could get the effects of reason in a rack like soundtoys effectrack

If you were on 10 this will be quite good but no way i'm upgrading from 12. Never seen an update this lackluster. The synth, delay and 3 tools could (no, should) have just been released as RE's so that leaves us with some sequencer and browser updates no-one ever asked for. Definitely not worth 199.

I can imagine how you feel. The polytone is a device you can basically do without (just to create the same type of sounds). Only benefit I get from it is that all the knobs are on the screen. But this is going to be a device I will most like not be using alot. I don't think so. Since I am more the type of person who grabs a subtractor, thor or Europa. Since I know these things inside out. I was almost on the R12 boat myself due to the upgraded combinator. That thing is awesome! While I was looking around I already noticed that R13 was coming. So I thought like I would wait for. The new browser is something getting used to. I have some constructive critism against the new browser (especially the comment that was made about the VST / Favorites). And besides that, you can tag your own sounds, but you can't really tag your own VST instruments. At least, I haven't found a way to do it yet. But these are mostly QOL improvements that will most likely get there in a future update (I guess). But I guess you can live without some of these things inside R13 just fine. Just wait for the next update (like I did).

@@reasonexperts Yeah the combinator rocks. I've made some of my VST's into a combi so it behaves like a RE which is awesome! But like you said, i can live without this upgrade. Losing my favorite VST lists makes it feel like a downgrade even. Enjoy your upgrade from 10! 11 and 12 were pretty good.

I'll skip this one. Cubase was a cheaper upgrade and I got a lot more compared to what Reason is offering for me to fork $199

They got rid of the fav list and thumbnails for 3rd party VSTs which was the #1 best workflow enhancement of any browser, now gone, probably to feature Reason devices over others. Sad.
