Rear View Mirror is a song I wrote about 18 years ago. The song was about me finding my faith. I sat down with a guitarist once and he couldn't quite bring it together the way I heard it in my head. So over the years it just became a shower song. Really. I'm a terrible singer but i enjoy singing this one.
Some facts about this story:
1. My Dad really did die in that Chattanooga hospital. And he did so in a very awkward way. I was the only one that saw it. I waited for the nurse to come in. She scanned the room wondering if anyone was looking as she took his pulse; realized he was dead. She darted for the doctor in the hallway. He came in and confirmed it.
2. I didn't duck out of the hospital. He had a beautiful funeral surrounded by family and friends.
3. He didn't own a boat. All of his money and assets went to my Step Mother. We never heard from her again. But it's ok. She brought him love and a lot of joy.
He was a funny guy. He would have enjoyed this version of the song. AI vocals and music allowed me to connect my words to make this song. it never would have happened otherwise. I never foresaw this song turning out like that. But I'm glad it did. I hope you guys enjoyed it.
